1988 Cav, Hard starting

Wagon, 4-door, 6 cylinder, 3L

Cool engine refuses to start without starting fluid.

Started doing this after I replaced the starter.


Any ideas?

That could indicate several things. I am not pro on cavis but I have been a mechanic for many years. The most likely problem is with the fuel delivery system. Chances are that the delivery system is injecting too little or WAY too much. Do you smell raw gas at the tailpipe before it starts? Has the computer spit out a code? Any other things going on? How does it run once you get it started? Fuel efficiency OK? Just a suggestion.
