piston rings 4 n2o b16?

I need to rering my pistons but would like to know if ne1 has suggestions on what brands to choose from and what grade would be recommended for n2o setup.

CRAZYCRX, belive me, ive seen piston rings come and go. honestly though, if you are looking for durability, its not what brand, but how you start, and drive your car. most people DONT THINK!!!! (not you of course ^ ^). when you start your car, theres no oil in your engine. it goes up through the pump. if you rev up your engine, right after turning it on, its like temporarily running the engine with no oil, thus decreasing piston ring, cam,and engine life.

To make a long story short, considering you have nitrous, I suggest you get a set of rings that have z-ro leak down, well, no rings have no leak down but, i bought a set of "Total Seal" Street and strip rings for my car, they have a 2 percent or less leak down rate. the best part is there only about $130, and they increase power by decreasing blow by.

It's funny you mention total seal because I was researching them today. I just found them about an hour ago in an old SCC mag. weird huh? I think they make some to withstand high heat from boosting as well. How long have u had yours? No complaints thus far I take it?

NOPE. i have had mines for like 2 years, and its still in good shape. when you run n20 or turbo, since you get more pressure, u also get more blow by, so this should give you more power

I dunno much about piston rings, but I need advice on which total seal piston rings..

I can get a set of total seal gapless rings for about $160 for my engine. That's not too bad considering the others I priced were in the $300 range. I dropped the oil pan today and now I'm just waiting for it to drip dry before I remove the pistons. Should be done just after x-mas.

hondaintegraxsi - R U running turbo in n2o? That will make a difference on what set u get. Call 623 587 7400. That is the total seal technical line and if you tell them what u have they will tell u the best set and price 4 ur car. Also check out totalseal.com 4 info and list of distributors near u.
