D16a6 to undergo surgury after 10K miles

Well I guess its time to replace #2 piston rings on my D16a6 after only 10,000 miles on a rebuilt motor. I did a compression test today on and got the readings: (dry)
#1:238psi
#2:120psi
#3:238psi
#4:238psi

I put a capful of oil in #2 cylinder and got the reading of 160psi, did it again and got ~300psi.

This kinda sucks because I don't understand how #2 pistons rings went to hell so soon, My only guess is that the gaps were not positioned right on the piston. Or maybe some of you can give me some insight?? :naughty:

Well the motor still runs like a dream right now, burns very little oil, poor gas milage and poor performance. I guess I am going to have to find a good weekend on my busy schedule and do some surgury. I'll keep you guys updated...

Did you have the cylinders honed or bored. If they where honed you may check for ovaling in the cylinder, meaning front to back and side to side messurements are close. If they are out of round this will cause the cylinder to wear the rings really bad.
