Safe on tape Deck

I recentally bought a 1995 golf III, and i took out the tape deck to see if a cd deck i have would be able to put it in, and when i put the origional tape deck back in it now says "SAFE" on it, and it will not paly anything. It also says "CD changer" on the deck but i searched the car and could nto find a cd input, if any one could help at all it would be much appreciated, thanks Al.

You need the owners manual, specifically the part with the radio's unlock code. If you don't have them you can take the radio serial number & possibly the car's VIN to VW to get the code & proceedure. I think the CD input is in the upper right of the trunk compartment on that model.

I ended up finding the manual but there were no instructions about the deck, but i just replaced it with a sony xplod, and it is not fitting correctly. I have checked several sites to find mounting kits, and have not found any thing that will fit y year of car.
