Cell Phone, clothes, games for either my ps2 or Gamecube and some cd's. And quite possibly if I'm really good I might get a car that I won't have to pay for everything on.

How do you get stressed at christmas? The kids maybe? Anyway, my mom suggested that they get me a tonneau cover for my truck, but i really don't want that. Now that im older i really don't care. Gift certifcates and money are fine with me.

That kind of defeats the purpose of gift giving for me.The best gifts I ever received were hand made in my father's workshop.Told me more about my father than a cash donation ever could. My son wants a water feature in the garden for christmas, and my daughter wants a dolls' house.Needless to say,I am putting a lot of love and patience into both projects.

i actually go shopping with my mom before christmas for half my stuff. She said she was tired of me returning everything after christmas so she just lets me pick it out. What I know I'm getting is a bunch of new clothes for work, a coach purse, and my sister always gets me the same thing. Stuff to clean my car. I dont think I'd want my parents getting me something for my car. They'd have no clue what to get me.

Yea it does. My parents very rarely give me gift cards(usually from aunts/uncles), they usually just find something that they know i have a strong intrest in or would just appreciate. Presents aren't important to me and havent been for many years. I am actually anticipating the time i have my own family with kid(s) and see their faces light up on christmas morning. That will be the happiest time for me.

Last person that gave me gift certificates got sworn at.
To me, giving me a gift card is like telling me you don't care enough to even bother trying to get me something.

awwwww surely even Santa himself gets prezzies! :)

Santa sure does get his own pressies.

I'm currently looking at upgrading my car to the turbo version. 200bhp as standard which will be a nice increase over the current 150ish in the modded state of my current ride. Spotted one and hope to view it at the weekend and if all goes well, I could be driving it next week.

Then the hassle of selling the current car begins.

Well the real reason why i get them is b/c my aunts ask me what i want and since we have a set limit for each kid(even though most of us are no longer kids) its the simplist thing i can think of. occasionally ill ask for something else. But now that im 22 the gifts are gonna stop which is fine with me b/c i like playing with the stuff my little cousins get and teaching them how to play the games or put the things together that they get.

It's different when you actually ask for them though.
I am talking about people in your family that just give them to you because they're to lazy to find out what you would like or to try to get you something.

My sister is a prime example of this.... :disappoin

I asked my dad to send me to a racing school, just kidding around... I hope he goes for it tho :) I haven't asked my parents for anything else.

I'm only buying one present this year, I'm buying the parts for a computer off newegg.com, and teaching my 11yr old little brother how to put it together. The family is using a slow ass P2 350 right now :)

Food for thought Santa Claus: An Engineering Analysis

1.No known species of reindeer can fly. But there are 300,000 specices of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and germs, this does not completely rule out flying reindeer which only Santa has ever seen. 2.There are 2 billion children in the world (persons under 18). But since Santa doesn't (appear) to handle Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, or Buddhist children, that reduces the workload by 85% of the total -leaving 378 million according to the Population Reference Bureau. At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that's 91.8 million homes. One presumes there is at least one good child per house. 3.Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 822.6 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with good children, Santa has 1/1000 th of a second to park, hop out of the sleigh, jump down the chimney, fill the stocking, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left, get back up the chimney, get back into the sleigh and move on to the next house. Assuming that each of these 91.8 million stops are evenly distributed around the earth which, of course, we know to be false but for the purposes of our calculations we will accept), we are now talking about .78 miles per household, a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting stops to do what most of us do at least once every 31 hours, plus feeding, etc. That means that Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second, 3000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle on earth, the Ulysses space probe, move at a poky 27.4 miles per second - a conventional reindeer can run, at tops 15 miles per hour. 4.The payload on the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming each child gets nothing more then a medium sized lego set ( 2 pounds ), the sleigh is carrying 321,300 tons, not counting Santa, who is invariably described as overweight. On land, conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting the 'flying reindeer' can pull TEN TIMES that normal amount, we cannot the job with eight, or even nine, We need 214,200 reindeer. This increased the payload- not even counting the weight of the sleigh to 353,430 tons. Again for comparison - this is four times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth 5.353,000 tons travelling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance. This will heat the reindeer up in the same fashion as spacecrafts re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair will absorb 14.3 quintillion joules of energy per second. Each. In short, they will burst into flames almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them, and creating a deafening sonic boom in their wake. The entire reindeer team will be vaporized with 4.26 thousandths of a second. Santa meanwhile, will be subject to centrifugal forces 17,500.06 times greater than gravity. A 250-pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of the sleigh by a 4,315,015 pound force.
