2002 Heat Problems

I have had 6 heater control units replaced in my S-10. They are random

Not blowing enough air
Not switching Modes
Loud High Pitch Noise when on Floor Mode and on Cold Air.

I take my truck in about every 3-4 weeks for a new blower or heater control unit!!

Does anyone have the same problem

I heard this is a common issue

Have the same problem with my ZR2. Replacing the actuator on the heater box will fix it for about a month. For some reason oil is getting in the actuator causing it to go bad.

Where is the flaper valve that controls the vent and floor settings. I have heat on defrost but I can not get it to switch over to vent or floor.

Hello, I know this is an old post but I am having the same problem but I know what the fix is. I need to replace the electronic climate control switch unit. the electronics for this is housed behind the climate control switches in the same box and the electronics has gone out. Its easy to remove and reinstall. My question is were can I find a replacment for less than 100 bucks? My truck is a 98 s10 Blazer 4x4 and the only way I will ever give it up is if it gets wrecked. thanks

It's because the vacuum hose is connected to the transfer case which is then connected to the actuater and that is where the oil comes from.GM and their great ideas. :screwy:
