He has a 2+2, its a model option that was available here in the US. I actually owned an 86 2+2.

The baby seat was in the back until recently. It's just too hard to get him back there now that he's about 35 lbs. In the front is a lot easier, and with no air bag, no real worries. I drive like a grand-ma with him in the car anyway.
With the seat in the back, my wife couldn't sit up front because he wouldn't have any leg room, so it's really a two-person car no matter what. With a new daughter here now, I need a bigger car!

I'm picking up a 95 Thunderbird SC Tuesday. Still a two-door, but quite a lot of room in the back.
It's a bit heavier than an RX7 too, but with a 3.8L super-charged 6 pushing 230+ HP and 330 ft-lb, it can really get out of its own way. This'll be the first thing I've ever owned close to a luxury car, but it's still a 5 speed.

I just re-read your description of the car... What the hell is "He got rid of this car for an anniversary edition convertible." I didnt know they made an anniversay convertible????

Sorry, I just meant a white 1988 10th anniversary. Not sure how "convertible" got in there.
