I have a 2000 Continental with 90k miles and I having problems with the car shuttering at 1200-1700 RPM. The dealership has replaced pugs and a coil but I still have the problem. Their only suggestion is to replace transmission but they are not sure it is the transmission is the problem. It only happens when the vehicle gets the initial load. It then runs fine. I think it may be something with the Torque Converter.

Help!!!!!

I'm not too familliar with the Conti. but I had the same problem in my TC at 34,000 miles.

One word LubeGard... (http://www.lubegard.com/automotive/trans_atf.html) .

I had my trans. flushed out ($65 at PepBoys), new filter.
Handed the mechanic two bottles of Lubegard before he started so he'd make sure it went in there.

Shudder is gone, shifts are smoother.

This stuff is HIGHLY recommended in Lincoln trans. along with flush and filter every 30k miles.

See the folks at LOL for more on this subject (http://www.lincolnsonline.com)
