Can not hear the fuel pump run, prime, no pressure. The relay is working, We changed out the fuel pump without luck, still does not prime on key start. Checked and the pump has 12v at the harness with ignition on....... I have no clue what the cause is. Anyone have an Idea?

Did you plug up the pump connector inside the tank?

Unfortunetly, we did plug it in. We did notice that the old pump wire connector was brown from age/heating. And of course we never thought to plug the new one in once installed into the harness outside of the tank to see if the new pump would come on. Everyone seems to be of the opinion that the problem is in the pressure sensor etc but am I crazy? if the wire harness at the tank has 12v then ... the pump should run! ? !

The brown from age and heating is a result of the wire overheating due to a loose connection...the female terminal can widen over time and cause an excessive current draw due to poor terminal contact.
If you have 12v at the connector to the tank, then the control circuit is working to that point.
You need to look at the wiring inside the tank and the ground circuit.
There was a ground wire that was bolted to the rear frame crossmember by the bumper...check that.

GMMerlin - you were right on the mark. Thank you for your help! We dropped the tank and pulled the core assembly again. As we tested starting at the connector we found that the connector pins were no longer making a good connection. A wire assembly is needed.
Thanks again!
