Id just like everyone to know that GSXs BLOW in the winter. I got my first snow squall ( 1/4 inch) and my car thought it was 6 inches of pure ice. Thing couldnt track onto anything.

well not trying to knock you dude, but learn how to drive. i live in wyoming where we get a shit load of snow and my car drives awesome. you might want to look into changing tires or staying out of the throttle. ;)

Oh the thing is, Ive been driving 15-25mph and sliding. REALLY BAD. I took a 1mph Turn (Stop then turn left) and my car fish tailed out. The wheels didnt spin at all, my car moved and i just slid. Weird. I have brand spankin new Mastercraft tires. hmm. They are REALLLY good on dry asphalt and rain. So i thought snow would be good too, but nope. Any suggestions on Some Cheap Snow tires that are good? Also, these tires are pretty damn good so i want to keep them, is it possible for them to take the tires off and give them to me? or do tire places charge extra for that stuff.

I couldn't say this on Tuners, but I can here....
LEARN TO FUCKING DRIVE
I keep the same bullshit Hankook tires on year round, and was absolutley having a BLAST last year during the snow we got. I was passing by stranded Jeeps with lift kits in my lowered car giving them the BOV salute.

It still won't help if he can't drive.

Alright A holes, How do you figure "learn how to drive" is even part of this equations. Ignorant a$$. I drive 15-25mph straight. Car slides back and forth while traveling in a straight line.
When turning from a dead stop and accelerating quite slowly, tires do not track and car slides(wheels arnt spinning at all, just not tracking at all). My question was what snow tires are good.

accelerating quite slowly nice oxy moron
well up here in Canada eh. we like to drive in like 12 feet of snow ( not really but way up north i think thats what they get not where i live though )
MICHILENS ALL THE WAY
the best winter tire i ever drove with
or u could get tires with chains
or even drive on salted roads where there is no ice
but then again salt sux for vehicles as it will eventually eat away at the frame ( under rite conditions )
but ya
get sum all seasons
there worth it
u dont have to change em each season

Im no expert in snow driving but I have to agree. AWD or not, get some good winter tires. Ive got Ecsta supras and i can tell by just looking at them that they wouldnt get shit for traction in snow.

LandoAWD- your pics crack me up. Noone looks at your car pics but the one with your mother... over 4500 people have viewed. Why you have to be so hard on a guy that just got his license? Noone wants that trailer trash talk on this site

I second the motion to dismiss your misinformed comment about GSX's. Although it's true that I can lose traction in a straight line in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes 4th.. if you know how to drive (id like to think i can) it's not hard.
In alaska we use studded snow tires, and my off-brand tires can get grip anywhere. I had a FWD car last winter, and I used to lose traction at idle speeds.. that blew, step off brakes and tires start spinning. But with the TSI i can pull into another lane if the person in front of me can't move forward.. pass them rapidly, make them feel stupid, let them hear the turbo, and laugh. (in that order) So don't get mad when people say you can't drive. I know if there was snow in L.A. there would be chaos, but where people DO drive in snow 9/12 months, it comes easily.
EDIT>> oh btw my dad drives his 4wd toyota without studs (summer tires) and he gets less traction, but I can drive that around too fine, and it's not much heavier than my car.
P.S. we are the best drivers :)

Id just like everyone to know that GSXs BLOW in the winter. I got my first snow squall ( 1/4 inch) and my car thought it was 6 inches of pure ice. Thing couldnt track onto anything.
I'm always the one to give the non-abrasive, diplomatic response so as not to hurt anyone feelings, or step on anyones toes, or make anyone feel "uncomfortable." But if you can make lame ass blanket statements like "my car isnt good in the snow so for the thousands of people reading this, take it from me, ALL GSXs blow in the snow!" then I Can make lame ass blanket statements as well. Lets start with "You're an assclown." If you can do it, we can do it. Plus I make 3 times the power you do. Now that thats out of my system... :icon16:
I ran my car with Bridgeston Blizzaks for a couple winters. The car will probably run 13s plowing a foot of snow with my FMIC with those tires. It literally puts you back in the leather in the snow. I have dozens of witnesses that have ridden in the car. All you need is good tires and a little control over your right foot. With Dunlop SP Sport 4000s (classified as "Ultra High Performance All Seasons) I can still do VERY well in the snow, and pull 1.5s at the track. I have no idea what the hell kind of tire Mastercraft is. Sounds like the local garage special to me. There is a 99% chance the problem is your tires, its certainly not excessive power.
Here is todays lesson. Do not generalize and say all dsms must suck in the snow because yours does. You are assuming everything is equal between all of us. And you know what "assuming" does, it makes you look like an assclown.

its not a general statement, Im stating as my gsx blows in the snow. I was pissed that i went out in that thing and my Civic had an easier time. Kinda disapointing. Owell the tires do good in rain and on dry pavement.

Dude, read your own post
"GSXs blow in the snow"
How the fuck is that not a blanket statement?
"chris26969 can't drive in the snow"
Now there is a specific statement.
I run Hankooks (shit in my personal opinion) and have NO problem putting down the power from the engine. I may not make as much as Kevin, but I'm working on it :)
Keep in mind that FWD, RWD, andAWD all will handle differently in adverse conditions, and there is barely anything left BUT the driver. Swap the tires, take a spin (not literally) and report back.

Everyone in town here is praising Blizzaks, so if you aren't cheap, and have a few more winters to go through.. buy something good like those. A shitty winter tire will be shitty in the winter, but not as bad as a max performance summer.
also, sadly i plow snow with my front bumper many times.. and in deep enough snow i can't turn well while keeping the speed up (so i dont get stuck) which turns into me going to a curb and finally getting grip at the last second. but hey its all fun except warming up my car 4 times a day because its -5 degrees.

yes, tire places will take off your old ones and mount new ones on your rims AND give you your old ones back. They might charge you a small fee (~3.00 a tire maybe) but that is an option.
