93 Eclipse Problem.

Hello, I'm new here as you can tell, and I have encountered a problem with my Eclipse and hope someone here can possibly help me.
Here's the problem:
I can crank the car up and it runs for approximately 4 to 5 seconds and quits running no matter what I do with respect to the throttle (pedal).
The time that it runs and then dies does not seem to vary.
It is a 2.0 non-turbo., standard shift transmission.
I've checked out the ECU, and I swithced it with the 91 Eagle that has the same engine and ECU numbers.
I've also switched the Air Flow Sensor between the two cars.
I've checked the fuel pump (audibly and hot wire), and it works.
I'm a little short on cash, so I can't afford to have it hauled to a repair shop.
Has anyone run into a similar problem?
Better yet, does anyone have a solution for my problem?
Thanks, in advance.

Sounds like when I had a bad Cam Angle Sensor. Not sure how likely this is to be your problem, but its worth looking into. Remove the CAS (mounted to the passenger side rear corner of the head, with the harness plug going to it). Leave it plugged in, and the key in the on position. Turn it manually and you should hear the injectors/plugs click as you rotate it. If it seems to work, keep trying it for some time. Walk away for a while and try again, etc. It was an intermitent problem in my case. At first the car would do like you describe, then a couple hours later it wouldnt work at all. If it is the CAS, you can typically pick used ones up for 50 bucks or less. I'll keep trying to think of other posiblities.

Thanks GSXracer;
I'll try that, and I might go ahead and swap the CAS with my Talon to see if that is the culprit.
I will certainly keep you and others that read this thread posted as to the results, and should someone else experience the same thing then there will be a possible solution for this anomaly.
