So here it is the Hot Pink Dodge Superbee! I finished it this past weekend and finally got some decent shots. Overall it was a good build and it is mostly stock except for the exhaust which i built as well as engine plumbing. I took some pieces from other cars as well such as the brake booster from a mustang kit, the wheels from 2 different kits (camaro and 57 bel air), and the fan I believe is from another kit as well as the alternator.
For this project i picked up a can of Testors dullcote to spray on the hood over the decals, I stronlgy suggest this stuff its great, and I'm now using it to make colorful interiors. Also note the sparkle in the pictures is not orange peel it is the sparkle from testors Pearl Gloss Cote.
You can see the progress thread here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbu...ad.php?t=152190 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=152190)
So what do you guys think, and do you want more pics??

Very origninal paint. Fortunately the build is very clean and looks very good so you can pull it off. The engine looks marvelous. Very dteailed, but very clean. Great work!

Actually Mopar pioneered the High Impact colors of the 60s muscle era, although they never did a hot pink its right in line with what they were doing at the time. Sublime Green , Sassy Grass, Panther Pink.....
Very nice build .
Testors Dullcote is great stuff, I use it for a more relaistic interior as well. It can also be applied over primer to seal it, this somes in handy for primered rods and rat rods as it does not finger print and absorb oils like primer does.
SO whats next????

very nice pink muscle car. Looks hot! Would've like to see the fd in pink. I like how your front and rear rims don't match :icon16:

Cool, but I'd never build a hot pink muscle car.
86_SR5:Actually the rims do match, the rear are just wider and a little bit deeper. Their just like drag wheels.
One thing thats bugging me about the car though, the left exhaust pipe is touching the bumper, and the right one has a little bit of space. They should both have a little bit of space.

 Yeah, they probably would. There are so many muscle car enthusists here too. I'd probably get shot, then dragged out of here on the back of some car, and they would either blow it up, or get it repainted. lol
All the ricers down in Denver would probably like a pink car though.lol :lol2:

Try very carefully heating the exhaust with a hair dryer and bending it down a bit.
Can you get some good interior pics, I am liking the piping on the seats and would like to see more if the interior details

Eugene the rims are different, the front ones are made from a different company, I have a set of the ones he has one the back and the front. The rears(mine) are female, and the front's are male.

Oh, they looked like they were the same rims. I didnt' know. I was just guessing. Sorry.
dag65: I bet down there, they would like any riced out car. Everytime I go down there, all I see are all these trucks and cars all riced out and crap. There are a few nice cars down there too.
I'm glad that you agree with me on the exhaust.

It's ok bout the rims eugene, I thought the same thing too, until I did further investigation. BTW, you think you've seen riced trucks? There's a toyota tacoma with 3''drop, bed cover, 18'' MR7 motegi grey wheels, grey primer'd paint, caddy tails, to huge rice cannons out the back, GTR badges on it, that's rice!

Yeah, I hate riced out cars.
I think that dag65 will agree with me though, Denver has too many ricered out old pieces of crap. The car barely run, and the owners still rice the hell out of them

Well thanks everyone for all the great comments, here are some more pics that I took! You can see that the wheels are different as well, I wanted a more street/drag looks so I went for skinnier little wheels/tires in the front and nice deeper wider rear wheels. Enjoy!

I love it! :iceslolan I normally hate pink cars but I think it works well here. Justin, is that BMF on the window surrounds? If so it is the original BMF or some other kind? It looks to have gone on there really well.

The BMF (bare metal foil) is from my LHS. It comes in this sheet in a white package that has a blue 50s chevy on it. Anyway I've found a real good way to apply BMF and have it form perfect and be nicely to shape. When I go home this weekend I can take pictures and do a tutorial. Would anyone like to see this???? :uhoh:
