Best spring and shock set up

I know this has probably been asked before, but i searched the forum and didnt find any definate answer. I have a 94 Del Sol and am looking for the best setup. This is a daily driver, but ride harshness isn't a big factor in my opinion. I also don't want the thing slammed to the ground, but i do want to beable to take the body flex out of the car due to the targa top. This requires sway bars and strut bars. I was just wondering what would be the ultimate setup for the street. I want to be able to pull somewhere between .96-1.0 G's. Any help is appreciated.

You didn't find a definate answer because there isn't one. Strut/tie bars & sways will not make up for the open roof, a roll cage will. If "ride harshness" isn't a big factor, then you have never been in a "harsh" car before.

Right there are different levels of harshness :) You should ride in my car with my race setup it's HARSH! Or maybe I'm getting too old (31).

YOu can dial out some body roll with just sway bars. But to ask for 1.0gs and not know anything about suspension tuning I also recommend "HOW TO MAKE YOUR CAR HANDLE".

Unless your John Hotchkis and have a new model Celica GT-S at your disposal to crank a healthy 1.02 of lateral G's out of. ;) Then again that's not quite the same, it's a better handling car to begin with IMO. What's the most amount of lateral G's you've ever seen or heard coming from a modified Civic? :confused:

I would say its almost impossible to do it with street tires, 1.0G or more can pulled on the right tires & suspension set-up/tuning. I'm curious on some high numbers from DOT tires, also curious what mine would do if I yanked some shit out - comparing street to race tires. I don't know what mine is stock, about +/- .80g's is about the average for civics - I'm guessing the 90-91 Civic hatches pull some of the best numbers compared to all other civics.

Right with DOT R tires you can pull 1+Gs with no problem. He was asking streetable setup. You might be able to get 1+Gs with Falken Azenis. I never did get around to measuring with my GTech meter.

It's very possible on the right NON R DOT street tires. Look at the Z06 Vette. It can pull 0.98g's on it's Goodyear Eagles is what they have? Also can't the Lancer EVO 8 pull 0.98g's on it's factory standard Advan A048 tires? Though my R&T mag here is showing they tested it at 0.88 G's. :confused: The '04 Viper SRT-10 can pull 1.04g's on the skidpad, but that's with 335/35 (19?) tires. I think properly setup, and on Azenis tires, a Civic could pull near 1g of lateral acceleration.
