I would like to start off by saying that Trans ams are my favorite american cars. Secondly I am currently in possesion of a 84 305 TA. While I lov this car it has been around the block mor etimes thna it should and I would like to replace it with something similar but a little newer. I like the look and features and numbers on the GTA's so I have a few questions.
With a few mods(lowered, underbody connectors, swaybars, tubular K-members) Will It handle well? By well I mean at close to current civic levels.
How is the power adding aftermarket? I looked at thunderracing and was impressed. How much would It take to get 400-450hp?(350-400rwhp)
Are there any problems these models are prone to?
Thanks for your help.

GTA is a great first car.
IF you change and lower and stuff yeah it will handle great. Just remeber low profile and wide tires will help alot.
Its not how fast you want to go its how much you want to spend.
Firebirds in my experience tend to overheat easy. new fan switch relay and you should be ok.
T tops tend to leak too.
AC seems to never want to blow out of the panel.
Thats all I can think of

yuor handling will be ok but swiggly coming out of turnswith sway bars but not as bad as without and depends on how hard you drive it and it will be hard to make a trans am handle like a honda civic and another thing is you shoudl stick with the 84 trans am (the best year of a trans am ;) in my opinion)
