Zenki or kouki (AE86)?

Hello, I'm looking at buying an AE86 Toyota Trueno from HLJ, and I'd like to buy the one from Initial D (my new favorite Anime) but they're out currently. I see they have two more in stock, and was wondering

1) Are these the same kit as Fujimi's Fujiwara 86?

2) Does Takumi's 86 have zenki or kouki bumpers?

Mahbo is a character in the manga called, Naniwa Tomoare, and it seems the wheels are different. Cusco one also has different wheels. Takumi's Hachiroku is Zenki, and it has RS Watanabe wheels, so you want to buy the kit, which comes with them.
As a side note, AE86 were sold in Japan between 1983 and 1987, and there was a minor change in 1985. Before the minor change is zenki and after is kouki. Zenki Trueno has two slits between the head lights, and the kouki has a taller and larger turning signal assembly.

From my experience, Fujimi no longer molds the Kouki model (which I really want) and just reboxes the body from the Initial D model! :mad: I purchased the Tohge model which has the box art of a Kouki, but ended up getting the Zenki model.

Those apear to be the correct size? When I order the Trueno, I'm also going to get a 2dr Levin, an AW11 MR2, and a mkIII Supra :D

Thanks for the compliment on the Integra :) I used 'Asian Tuner Decals' I found in a pile at the local hobby shop. It's almost done, I have to add a NOS bottle between the back seats. The bottle is painted purple and has a Zex sticker on it. I just have to finish making brackets for it.

For some reason the pics on that site are always reduced down. If you save it to desktop or somewhere and open it in another window, you can see it full-size. I wish I had more pics, but I don't have a camera :( I always get pics taken at our model meetings, and the person in charge of the website posts them there.

I'm also working on a Revell Civic hatchback, it will be blue with silver graphics, and a white and blue interior.

Uhh... being asian dosen't necessarly mean you like Corolla's, it's just a taste in cars... like your Camaro.

Futureboy - The rims you pointed out are the standard kit rims for the AE86 Trueno kit, I'm sure the "Fujiwara tofu car" kit you pointed out comes with them. But an extra set of RS Watanabes are always good!

According to Hachiroku model review page in Japanese, technically, the Hachiroku had the same tire size for all four corners, so the wheel set will be incorrect, BUT(!) unless you're making a historically correct Hachiroku, there's no correct model, but just your own, so it's nothing wrong to use the wheel set.

It's hard to describe, but it gives you a true driving pleasure from extremely high balanced weight and power. And if you push it so hard, you still get an excellent gas mileage, which is critical to poor students.

it includes the sideskirt, and kouki bumpers, with lens for turn signal indicators (unlike zenki)

AE86er, nice buy! I actually purchased the Tohge model with the Kouki car on the box.. so where'd you get your from? Maybe if I get one from the same place, I might get the Kouki as you did.

Side note - I was looking at my Zenki Trueno yesterday, and found that there are existing lines where the signal lights "hug" the corner.. I just have to cut that out, fit the lip, and create a lip on the top, inbetween the lights.

The problem is, I don't know what's inside the box. I think the more recent "production" of these kits have been reboxed of the Initial D model, like the MR-2. Also, I don't have an account that I can just "use" to purchase things, since ebay requires a credit card number upfront.
