Please Help!!!! Engine Problem

I have a 94 galant. When the car is idiling the engine sometimes hesitates. Sometimes the engine also misses when you are driving at any speed. I have brought it to a certified machanic and he told me that my car needed a tune-up, which I had done. I have brought it back since then with the same problem and they can't find anything wrong with it. I'm hoping that it's not a serious problem. I wasn't planning on getting a new car.

Becky, it's somewhat difficult to diagnose the problem based on the description provided. What is the frequency of occurrence? Also, under what conditions do they occur? If the occurrence tends to be random, it suggests to me either a dirty fuel filter or possibly dirty fuel. You might also want to check for worn spark plugs or wires. Although results do vary, as a rule of thumb plugs should be replaced every 30K and wires every 60K.

Its likely that a thorough tune-up based on the maintenance interval schedule may resolve the problem.
