A couple Q's... what are the stock speaker size on the door panels in a Jetta III? What size will fit? Also, will I disable the alarm system if I install a new Deck? Unrelated, will installed a remote starter be a big hassle?
Thanks > Sorry for all the Q's.. Im new at Jetta game.

6.5" is the size all the way around so you'd be best to stick with that size. Remote Starts are fairly easy to install on them. I have done plenty of them. Doorlocks/alarm is a little funky but not too bad. I will warn you about those cars having all kinds of quality issues. I added a small sub and amp to the factory radio. The dealer tried to blame all the problems I had on it. Needless to say, it was all handled by my lawyer and I no longer have it. It was sad. I actually liked the car but hated taking it to the shop every 2 weeks :banghead:
ANyway, do not worry about changing out the stereo out. Look in the owner's manual, it even tells you how to do it. Just save some skin and buy a wire harness.
