Manual Transmission

Does anybody know of a Chrysler manual transmission I can put in my 96 avenger 2.5? I know the avenger does not come with a manual transmission in the V6 but i am looking to make it one and know there is a way but I dont which transmission will fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way I am new here so go easy on me.

I was look'n around at race avengers and fouund out what to do if you want a v6 and a manual. You will not be able to use your factory v6. But, the new eclipse (00, 01 ect...) GT 3.0 v6 entire power train bolts up to the avengers. All year avengers frame is all the same. Mine is a 99. There was a guy that had the GT 3.0 with a 5-speed from the eclipse on his 98'. Everything bolts up. He even put a 15 pound boost turbo on it. He had 350 horse before nos. So... little more coastly, but alot more power!!! Good Luck

drivetrain is different and is not a simple bolt on.

in order to use the 3.0 6G72 / 5spd from a 2000+ GT Clipse, u need the ECU as well so u might as well get an eclipse

it would be pointless to put a 3rd gen eclipse motor in an avenger to have a manual since for 1 avengers come factory with a 420A manual which is also in the 2nd gen NA eclipse. for 2 3rd gen eclipse motors are weak. i've seen a near stock 2nd gen. eclipse beat a 3rd gen v6 many times.

but also didnt mention that i didnt really know any of the drivers so dont know their driving abilities.

O...K great replies guys really, but you still failed to answer.The original question was if he could get a manual trans to fit his 2.5 V6, and this is now my question as well... so... can it be done and HOW????

no it can not be done. it simply will not fit. im sure youve looked under your own hood and can confirm that the engine is crammed in pretty tight. i did hear rumors of a kit being made like a year ago by some aftermarket company, so there might be a way to get a 5 speed in there. but as far as i know there isnt.

From what I heard the project never finished.
