Can somebody tell me what these are? I saw one which at first I thought it was a regular vtec badge, but up close it said special edition. I'm assuming it's just a GS or something, with some extra features maybe..?

i got a Special Edition sedan. it's just an LS/GS with leather and i read somewhere that it has a thicker stabilizer bar or sway bar (can't remember). It also comes with 15inch SE rims. Everything else is the same, same engine as LS/GS.

There's nothing really special about it at all.
if you want to look... www.cardomain.com/id/integrasedan

I think all integras should have been GSR only in the first place, better engine and leather. a good combo.

How come you have hubcaps then? My friend has a GS with leather and stock rims.. I think they're just added options then.

i'm the 3rd owner of my '95 ride, the guys before took the special edition rims off and put in stock oem rims with the hub cap from a honda civic. i guess they wanted to keep the rims.

if you want to know if it's a special edition, run the VIN number on carfax website or DMV reports/registration papers. I've done that and it reports mine as a special edition.

Heres your answer:
Year-to-Year Changes of the Integra

1995 Acura Integra: A new LS Special Edition arrived for 1995, mixing the base engine with GS-R looks. Leather upholstery was featured, along with 195/55R15 tires on alloy wheels and a thicker stabilizer bar. Special Edition hatchback also got a rear spoiler.

1997 Acura Integra: The Integra model lineup was juggled for 1997. Also, new alloy wheels were added to GS and GS-R models. The 4-door RS was discontinued, while the "GS" badge was placed on the former Special Edition model. Except for the RS, all were available in both body styles. As a result, the lineup ascended from RS through LS, GS, and GS-R after the start of the model year.

This link is where i got the info:

In a nutshell: the LS special edition only exist for two years: '95 and '96
Then Acura changed the name of the LS special edition to GS in '97 and up.

So your friend's GS car is a '97 and up right? it's the same as the special edition, it's just called a GS.

Hope this helps!
