:cwm27: Good morning! I am new to the forum and hope to find answers to some of my auto problems and maybe share some experiences of my own. I have 5 vehicles and 4 of them are older (1990 to 1975). I left a new thread concering my 1987 Astro that I hope someone can help me with. I grew up with my father and uncles being backyard mechanics and was taught that I would save a lot of money in my lifetime if I would learn to fix my own cars and trucks. That is why I have tried to stay away from the newer autos because of the electronics and computers.
Well, I will go for now and hope someone with vast amounts of wisdom will offer me a solution to my problem.

well, while working on your own cars will save you money, its no reason to fear computer controled cars, im a tech, and tust me, its nice to plug in a nice clean computer to the car, have the car tell you exactly whats wrong, and fix it without spending a week trying to track down the problem. and then finding out, you didnt really find the problem lol. the only headache is when the computer fails, or when a wiring harness grounds out. aside from that. newer cars are much easyer to work on, and provide much more control, and better overall efficency.
