finally happened... f-ing cops!!!!

well, it happened tonight
i got a god damn fix it ticket!! :(
i have blue bulbs in my fog lights and my corner lights and got pulled over for them tonight, its been 2 months with my corner lights and 2 weeks with my fog lights... its really gay that they pulled me over now.

i was nervous when the cop was behind me that i actually started driving faster, he put his lights on when i hit 60 km/h in a 40 zone so i thought he was gonna get me for speeding too but he didnt thank god

i got untill 4pm tuesday to switch my bulbs back over :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Personally, Blue only works if it was neon underglow and other miscellaneous things like that. Plus yea, it is illegal in most places to have colors other than orange for side markers. You should get those changed man, so your less noticeable to the cops. :dupe:

I think it's bullshit... Why should turn signals be all one colour by law? So that people can recognise the colour, they say. But THEY do not realise how many drivers out there are colour blind... they do not give a shit what colour the signal is, as long as it flashes to the side the car is going to turn...

But you don't see them illegalising colourblind drivers now, do you...? Let the real danger continue to stay on the roads... just don't change the colour of your signals.

Ok now.. chances of being color blind is like 1/20 or something like that. The MAJORITY of drivers arent color blind, and even so, still cant see when people signal. So it has to be orange!

Getting upset over "the man" making you comply with the laws regarding the color of safety lights on your vehicle is awfully mature.

Be mad that they write tickets to generate revenue, rather than to make the streets safer. Be mad that they go after drug violations to seize property they can later auction off.

But being mad because you can't use nonstandard, and honestly unsafe, light colors?

Down here any blue lights (or flashing strobes in any color) on cars is illegal, because it is a police color. Automatic $350 fine. That's what I was told by the judge here when I went to court over my red lights I had. (I won my case)

The color blind example is fine, since stoplights are always in order from top to bottom, red, yellow, green color blind people can still see stop and go lights, they just recognize the position of the light rather than the color. Same goes for turn signals....the flashing means your turning, not the orange.

Okay, I really dont even care if I get flamed for this, because I have my reasons for being so upset. First of all, 1PhatCX, I know what you mean. Fuckin cops are always out harassing kids, for whatever reason. I'm not saying we dont deserve it a lot of the time, but for God's sake, give us a fuckin break sometimes. About a week ago, I was taking my gf home at like 2am and I was comin down a hill. Every time I go on this hill I always see cops, so I ALWAYS take it slow. I also know that dropping it down to 2nd goin 35 to maintain my low speed creates lots of noise, therefore, I cruised in nuetral with my e-brake half pulled up to keep quiet. Anyways, halfway down the hill I see a cop comin up the hill, I thought nothing of it cuz I wasnt doing anything wrong. I go to the bottom of the hill and turned the corner. About 5 miles down the road, same cop pulls me over. He came up to my window and told me he could give me a ticket for my exhaust. I was like WTF, I said "Okay, did you hear it, I mean, is it too loud?" knowing that I was only idling and there was no way in fuck he heard it. He said, "Well no, I just looked back and noticed you had an aftermarket exhaust and figured it was too loud for regulations." What kind of ignorant shit is that? Like the fat donut-eating fuck has nothin better to do than harrass me? All I wanted was to get home and get some sleep. Jeezus, leave me the fuck alone!!!

well the main reason i'm pissed is because the whole theme of my car was gonna be blue exterior and black interior so of course i wanted to keep those blue lights to make it look cooler and have everything fit. the thing that pisses me off the most tho is for my fog / driving light bulbs, the package didnt say ILLEGAL, hell... it didnt say anything at all, just the bulb number, and the place i ordered em from didnt tell me they were illegal. but what gets me is that the corner lights i had for 2 months. i've seen TONS of cops, at least 80 - 90 cops in that time, hell, they drive past me in the parking lot at work at night when i have them on and they didnt say ANYTHING to me! i'm just guessing this cop had nothing better to do, he shoulda been out catching speeders and drunk drivers, lights dont hurt people, drunk drivers and speeders do! i wasnt doing anything to hurt anyone so i dont see a big problem. its obvious to people i'm not any form of snow removal equipment and i'm sure noone would think i am, how can we keep our cars custom with lights when the cops keep pulling us over?

oh well, i took the car to the station today and a different cop looked it over, he was a nice guy for once, it seemed like he wouldnt have cared about it if he saw me driving with them, i think the cop that pulled me over was trying to make a name for himself cuz he looked like a new guy.

Red forward facing lights are illegal, blue are illegal anywhere, this applies also when you can only see the "glow" and not the light directly.

As a firefighter I get super pissed anytime I see a car with them. If I see a car with them while in the truck, I will not hesitate to radio it to the dispatcher with the licence number, to make it easier for the cops to find them. Same goes for breaking nearly any law while near my truck, since my job is dangerous enough once I get to the scene.
