Im looking into a car to restore and the only classics worth the money are a 72 nova ss and a 71 charger, i was wondering what everyone thought was the better car to work on, both are running cars and within $300 of eachother. This would be the first car i work on and i was just wondering what more knowlegable people thought about which would be the better choice.

A lot depends on the engine and options. Are they in similar shape? Both run?

both are running cars and both are decent shape, the charger has slightly more done to it in regards to engin bolt ons and such but like i said they both are pretty much in the same shape, some rust, wear and tear nothing to serious

Still doesn't help. Do you know the size of the engines? And maybe more specific details on the body condition? I would go for the Charger. Not a big fan of Novas.

no one was home when I checked them out so I didn’t get to do a great check, I don’t know engine size, the ads both claim they run and by looks of things they probably have the originals, I didn’t see any evidence on the outside that these cars have been modified at all. The bodies require no real work, there is a little rust around the bottom of the car from winters in the north, but its all superficial, a little grinding and some paint and it should be as good as new, the only questions I have are about the engine cause that’s the only part of the car I didn’t get to look over.
