Well I deciced to post up my new project. Revell Civic SI, It's gonna be a stock body kit, Nismo rims, Custom CAI and a Custom Exhaust. Also it will be wingless because I don't care much for the kit wings. Thats about it I need color idea's.

My suggestions:
- metallic grey for the body.
- Altezza black taillights.
- CF hood.
- shaved trunk & maybe a EVO intake.

What do you think about?

What do you think about?Nah, I wanna keep the body mod's to a minimum. And altezza's=http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/loser.gif I was thinking of doing working lights with Fiber Optic's and a Underbody kit with them to. Not sure right now tho.

Depending on what kind of look you are going for the rims might be too big. For a show car, they're fine, but for a racer (of any sort) they are too large. But that all depends on what you're going for. Also, I don't see why everyone liles to add negative camber to the front wheels. Front wheel drive cars usually have all sorts of understeer problems and adding ungodly camber to the front wheels will just make the car almost undrivable, but adding a bit of negative camber to the rear wheels will have a positive effect on handling (Civics actually come from the factory with a little bit of negative camber on the rear wheels). Either way, any amount of camber that would be visible on a model would probably be way to much on most cars, espescialy the street driven variety. Otherwise, this car is looking good, and I do like the wheels.

And CamaroSSboy346, honestly don't let the APC machines ruin Civics for you. While they don't have the power a Camaro may have, face it, they are way more capable on twisties than Camaros could ever be. They are very well handled, quick cars that have had their reputations tarnished by a few poorly modified wannabes. Don't forget that there are just as many Camaros out there that look retarded.

Edit: I'm not trying to start a fight or anything. I'm just saying, there are plenty of crappy cars of all varieties, and plenty of nice ones of all varieties. There's no need to stereotype.

You do have a point on the camber, Which is why I'm gonna take it off later on. Look's bad IMO. As for the wheel's. They are a lil' bit on the big side, but IMO they look badass on a civic.

pfft, me and josh always mess around like that. And also, the Camaro Convertable* pulls .89 on the skid pad. Stock. I've only seen 4 or 5 "riced" camaro's. They happen to be V6, and were all found on the internet. (still laughing at that lime green Camaro V6 with a body kit, huge wing, altezzas, 4" slash cut dual exhaust (the style found more likely on ghettofied 3rd gen's) still rollin on stock rims @ ricecop.com)

CamaroSS-

Ok, sorry... don't let me get all up in your business... Just as someone who owns and races (autocrossing, but it's still racing) a Civic, sentiments like that frustrate me. Seems like you're an alright guy so no sweat. Just that in places like this it's hard to know who's serious and who's playin' around.

And, so this post isn't a complete wreck of your thread, the wheels are sweet. Just don't put Nismo decals on them... that might just be a little weird in the end.... but then, they are Nismo wheels...? Now I'm confused... yarr...

Yeah, it sounds like your civic could probably rip up the track, and it sounds like you added sensible mods. (Unlike those damn APCars)

BTW my GSR would eat your Si.

I agree they look very nice on it, But the paint will be Duplicolor Super White, as for i cant get my hands on any tamiya paints.

Well I've been working SO slow. Here's the custom rollbar, Made with 1/16 metal silver tubing. It was a pretty easy. I plan on doing a full cage, Cept I ran outta tubing . I flocked the Interior with Black/Grey mixture, and Flat Black with Flat Red door panels, The seats will be black with harneses and braces on the back of the rollbar. Here's the pic's.

Looking very nice! The flocking looks great. This is going to turn out a stunner. I'd say put a bar on the main hoop of the roll cage going from the top corner above the driver to the floor where the passenger seat is, and then gussets at all the joints or else the cage is pretty useless. You know, to keep with the great realism you got goin there. But seriously, great work. Looking forward to it.

Well, I just apply the 2 coat's of primer, But heres my dilemma. I can't decide on a color! Since i cant find pearl white in a spray can ANYWERE'S around here, I have directed my attention to pure white, OR some mettalic blue, Or even bright red. I need you guy's oppinion's.

Thanx, Josh

Pearl white with burgundy accents would look absolutely stellar. Just ask anyone who's seen a BRE Datsun.

Is there anything you can do to widen the rear track? It looks a little too narrow for accuracy's sake. Makes the car look like a Citroen SM or something.

The car looks pretty good though, actually. I like the way you're doing the modifications. The only things I would've done differently at this point would have been to strip the injection system of all its chrome and replace the back seat with scratchbuilt rear paneling. Probably gutted the side panels, too. Maybe even scratchbuilt a Skunk2 intake manifold with TODA injectors and individual intake trumpets.....

Jeez, you're starting to make me want to build a Civic, and that's just not right.

Already one step ahead of you, New race intake in the making, With fuel rail and lines, puls the new intake. It's funny cause when I picked this up, All I had in my mind was, Box stock, Box stock. Well, It's far from box stock lol. So far I added Tamiya Supra Brake's. I also sprayed the first 2 coats of paint. It's duplicolor Bright Red. Look's awesome polished up. I also got the CF on the hood, But it looks like crap because I CANNOT do CF, I try and it STILL will not come out. Oh well. Right now I'm letting the paint dry for 2 days. Then I can sand and respray another coat, Wait another day and sand once more before I decide to polish/wax. IMO this is the best model and progress I've done in a while. I haven't really been in the modeling spirt. Also I picked up some more 1/16 metal tubing so I can finish the full cage up, And Willimo, Can you give me some pics of what you mean, I know nothing about roll cage's. So I'm trying to figure out what you said. I also did a B18 engine swap. The civic engine and the ITR engine may appear the same, but the ITR's engine has a more detailed block and header placement. I just finished sanding the seem's on the seats. And plan to have the driver side install, And harness'es braced to the cage by tonight. I also added a T.V. In the passenger side of the dash, And was also thinking of cutting the glove compartment and adding a scratchbuilt PS2. I also added a mini C.D to the C.D player. And I used the door speaker decal's that came with the kit. I wish I woulda scraped the interior and redid it, But conciquently I never knew it would turn into this much. Well enuff talking, Gotta go finish the cage.

I hate to pretend like I'm a roll cage expert, 'cause I'm not.

The main hoop is the tall part that extends over the head of the driver and is usually just behind him. Yours is the almost square part that goes up out of the floor right ahead of the rear seats and has the bracing extending forward about halfway up and backward from the top. Anywho, there should be a cross brace (often done diagonally to cut it into triangles for mor strengh) or else it will more likely to flex during a rollover and be useless. Something like this:

http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/images/cages_11.jpg

There are tons of ways to do it, this particular one has the diagonal brace and a brace that goes straight across the back, though I have seen cages with just one or the other. Here, I think the horizontal brace is only for attaching the harnass. Do a google search and you will get plenty of results. And, after seeing a bunch of cages on google, forget the gussets. That's oldschool.

For pearl white, paint it white, then spray a pearl overcoat. Testors makes one, and it isn't too bad as far as ease of spray.
