Enough With the Damn JDM Suggestions

Nobody said this to me....but Im gettin real damn Tired of hearing "Drop the 17" TSW's and get some 15" Black Rota's"......"Loose the kit...Id get a JDM Front Clip"....I mean,.....Im just gettin tired of hearing things like "The WW Kit is so played....everyone has it".....Guess what guys.....Slipstreams are gettin played out too.....so are JDM Front clips....everyone and their mother has it now.....My car doesnt fit into a JDM Category....or a ricer Category.....but Im just gettin sick and tired of hearing this crap.....the reason why they make 50 billion kits for the 4G is so everyone can build their own design. And that my :2cents:

personally i plan to go w/ a fiew of the jdm parts just cause they look nicer than usdm and i don't want something that stands out too much.

Im not saying that the JDM parts look bad....Im just getting tired of hearing the same thing....."Get rid of the altezzas and get some OEM ones on there"......some people like to stand out....and more power to em....its not my style....but do what you want....its your car.

This is how it goes. One thing takes over for a while, then another later on, then another, then another. When I first got into the import scene, the huge thing was all 17" wheels and clear tails. Then came altezza's, and now JDM. What's the next thing? If you can figure it out, you'll be a bajilliionaire cuz everyone will buy your crap. Just do your thing and be yourself. The hopeless ones are then ones that have one of each fad to come by, and change their taillights according to what's selling on ebay! Slips will fade out just like the old clears and other crap did, and the next wave will hit. Just decide what look you want and stick with it. And yeah, I am getting sick of hearing the JDM tag flaunted before every little mod, like, "My car has a JDM brake bleeder screw, JDM radio antenna, and JDM upper radiator hose..." It definitely gets annoying!

I have 2 jdm parts on my car. I bought 1 cause I liked the way it looked, i bought the other cause I got it for dirt cheap. Some jdm stuff is cool, but its ridiculous when you pay 70 for a amber clock. The drifting fad is kicking in now, so soon everyone will have 240s and be killing people when they try to drift.

No kidding! That's gonna be great when we have a bunch of kids whose parents bought them a drifter are running around trying to "Get sidways wit it" on some residential street and come sliding through grandma's front door! That's gonna be swell! They might as well make a movie about it just to get the idiots out!

you guys hit the nail on the head....I wont spend $300 on altezzas....cause I just dont like em.....but I also wont spend $300 on JDM Tails....cause its sooo plain....I would however spend $300 on a tail light conversion to something cool....or spend $300 on some clears and paint em dark red....I enjoy a clean car...and Im going to do a tail light conversion, front end conversion....granted Im going to run with a Mugen front lip, and WW sides and Door Caps.....Im going my own way....and I pray that it looks good.

Im protesting the fact that so many people are so damn negative and are so one sided, I mean Its All JDM styled for people....I just get sick of reading Honda-Tech and JDMCivic.com because everyone is all so damn negative if you say you are gonna do any cosmetics or modification that doesnt come from Japan.

I agree with you man. It used to be that I had respect for people that didn't rice out their car. Now days I have respect for people that don't follow the JDM scene. If you look at their cars, they're all the fucking same. They all are lowered with a lip and some dark 15-16" rotas. Sure, it looks pretty hot, but it's BORING. Get some nice 17s on there with a simple body kit, that shit looks nice. :)

90% of the users on Honda-Tech have a realization of the need for function over forum. Hence the simple looking cars (nothing flashy because thats not what their/our cars are about).. However a lot of them are rocking swaps and/or major suspension mods.

Body kits and big rims are excessive, they are form over function in a sense, but still make the car look pretty fucked up most of the time.. Especially since everyone wants to do it so cheap now, so they all buy knock off kits that don't fit properly and shit.

I think its more important for a car to function better than it looks. Some people think it should just look good and don't care about how it handles or how quick it is.. Some people think they need to get altezzas to "look different" when in a sense they just wind up looking like thousands of other people who did the exact same thing for the same effect. Some people just say fuck it and leave their taillights alone.

Its just personal preference, people should be aloud to say what they think about stuff, just as much as you have the right to say you don't like that they all agree. Agree?

I have had my 4g for about 9 years and have been modding it ever since I first had it. Trends have changed over the years. My car has gone through some transformations but every time I change something I don't do it for anyone but me. I like the WW kit because it fits great and looks clean. Have had a different kit B4 and it looked ok but fit like shit. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I laugh when I get flamed about my Euros. I always get the "they are so played out..." . I don't care.. If I wanted my car to be plain I would left it alone. Enough rambling... gonna fly...

all Im saying is that the "JDM Style" Is a fad....regardless of whether you have a Japaneese part on your car...it means you have a sleak looking car thats not outrageous looking.....Im just sick of hearing the same thing.....Get some 15" Blackies on there and get a JDM CLip......every suggestion I hear is the same thing....I thought modifying cars was an expression of your creativity.......yes ?
