Ok so I bought an '84 D-50 Sport with a 2.6L I4. My co-worker said he had an '84 Omni with a turbo on it. I was just wondering if anyone knew if you could use that turbo on the 2.6L for my truck, and if so where to get one???

I don't believe so, the 2.6l engine was produced by mitsubishi/and was naturally aspirated. the 84 omni was a 2.2 american made engine. A simple swap would not be possible.

What about the '84 Conquest??? It came with a non-intercooled turbo on a 2.6l 4cyl engine, would one of those turbo's work???

Wow! theres a name from the past, Conquest, lets see. I believe that would be closer to bolting on, however it might be a tad difficult finding a conquest. I am not sure how one would go about hooking up wastegate selonoids etc to your d-50, sounds like you will have to find some more info on a conquest and go from there, sorry I can't help.

That's kool. Thanx a lot for just replying to this thread I really appreciate it. I've found a turbo for the '84 Conquest, but I suppose I'll have to take a closer look into how the engine is set up...Thanx a million man, maybe I'll see you on here again sometime.

What you need to do is find a donor car, a conquest TSI or Mitsubishi Starion(same thing) that has a 2.6 in it. That turbo engine is completely different that yours internally. It was meant for turbo, yours was not. But, externally they are mostly the same, so it will bolt right in. Like I said, find a donor car that runs good and swap the entire engine, wiring harnesses and ECU, ETC.
You will blow your engine up if thats all you did was add a turbo.

That sounds a lot easier. I'm really glad I found this forum. I'll try to find a donor. Thanx a lot everyone.
