Well it was a hell of a day at the track ... to say the least.
My first time at Cecil County ... lower elevation than Maple Grove ... 40º ambient temps ... and a track that would not grip.

I was struggling with 1.9 60s all morning. My first run was a 12.3 @ 117 ... I was extremely pleased with the new MPH. The run was just over 19 psi of boost.

I cranked it up a little ... ran a 12.28 @ 119.58. I used the two-step rev limiter for this run and the next 2 runs ... although I think it hurt more than it helped since I was fighting for traction anyway.

Run 3 was a 12.199 @ 118.62 (broke button off line lock *sigh*)

Run 4 was 12.190 @ XXXX who knows... the timing did not give me a mph. It says 25.86 ... Riiight.
On this run I broke the cover to the line lock switch... I was left with just a little circuit board and the internal button
Hyde was also off the scale red hot after this run ... engine temps were through the roof. I turned the heat and cruised around at low speeds to keep air moving over the engine and it quickly came down to "normal" temps. At this point I shut off the 2-step rev limiter.

Run 5, (as per NoShoes suggestions quite a while ago) I tanked off the air filter. I had a great burnout and hit a 1.92 in the 60' which was good for the cold track today. That run I managed a new best of 12.01 @ 120.31 (that run was at 21 psi of boost). Needless to say I was extremely pleased and frustrated.

Hitting 120 was awesome ... but to be .01 away from the 11s was killing me.

Worse still Hyde's engine was in the serious red hot zone... temps were not coming down. I cruised around or a good while with the heat on and I would say it was a good 7-9 minutes that Hyde was in the red. ... at this point I figured I was going for broke.

I dropped two bottled waters into the coolant (it was low) ... and my oil level light was now flickering *yeah me*
So with the engine hot and the oil light flickering ... I decided to up the boost another psi.

My last run I did at 22 psi of boost.
I was suppose to be racing a trailer mustang (guessing a 10 sec car). Anyway, I had a short unfullfilling burnout and popped up to the line... staged both lights and waited.

For whatever reason the Mustang never pulled up ... and the timing folks shot him a red light and immediately started my yellows!!! Needless to say I was asleep .... reves were not even up since he hasn;tstaged any lights.

So I shot a wonderful reaction time of 1.1 seconds
God knows what I launched at, but I hit a 1.8 in the 60' ... to me it felt like I had spun bad off the line so I was already frustrated with the run ... so I slammed 2nd gear and looked over to the stands and waved to my mom, Kappa and his dad.

I figured what the hell ... anyway, I managed to stay between 1/2 and full throttle while shifting into 3rd and 4th gears.

I was sure it was a crappy run at any rate ... I almost fell over when I saw the slip: 11.845 @ 123.69 mph.

My 1/8 mile mph was 94.69 ... I had improved exactly 29 mph in the top 1/2 of the track.

I decided to call it a day. :)

On the way home:
Hyde did not overheat ever again.
Hyde drove perfectly fine the whole.
He is pulling normal vaccum, idles fine and sounds peeeerfect.
He also rolled over 195,500 miles.
Hyde's oil light came on a bunch of times ... I really need to start putting oil in this car.

That is all for this year.

Thanks ... I'll be posting in a few weeks what I am going to decide to do with Hyde. Either keep him the way he is and just enjoy him .... or go for more.

I need to do some research and figure out what I want.

Thanks for all of the support everyone.

Thanks guys ... I appreciate it :)

... Hyde is going on a major diet over the winter. I'm looking to lose 200-300 lbs on the car even after the roll cage is added in. ;) ... I might be SCCA Hill Climbing Hyde in the spring. I wouldn't want anyone getting the silly idea that Hyde is a Drag Queen :D
