What is the best way to warm up an engine in the wintertime to prevent excess wear? I've got 142,000 miles and im running mobile 10w-30. Thanks for the help!!!

It's to use an electric water- or oil heater before you start it. You can also use a thinner oil (under cold starts) like Mobil 1 0W-30 or 0W-40.

Where do you live? If NOrth like International Falls then a electric heater for your oil. But it depends Where you are.

Electric heaters are worth using up to 5-10 degrees Celsius (40-50 F). Most heaters works by heating the coolant.
