Hello all my first post hope i can get a answer very upsetting. First off i have a 84 chevy blazer with a 350 and a quadrajet carb. My truck has always started fine in the past but this winter has been giving me fits. I couldnt get it started today and could really smell the fuel. I knew it was flooded tryed cranking it with the pedal down, then with a screw driver in the front butterfly still no go. So i removed all the plugs and reinstalled them, the truck started fine.
But now and this has never happened in the past my choke light is always on and of course now it has died and will not start. I figure it might be on because of the screwdriver im not sure did i bump anything or trip a lever??
My question is how do i trip the choke off so I can get my truck to run?? I didnt bend anything or tweak anything with the screwdriver. I just set it in there to hold it open. I tried moving some other levers but to no avail the light is still on and i have never seen it on before. Thanks in advance.

Hi--I'm new to this forum, but not to old v-8 chevys. Look for a wire you may have inadvertently disconnected, probably running to the passenger side of the carb. I think this wire originates at an oil-pressure sending unit on the driver's side of the engine. Good luck. CB
