GREDDY Turbo??

I am thinking of going turbo and was looking at the Greddy turbo for my Si. I have heard people say that FMAX is better but I like the quality of the Greddy products. Does anyone here have the Greddy turbo and what do you think of it? Can you boost it up later once you build up your engine? Was it fairly easy to install? I can get the full kit for around $2,800. What is the benefits of FMAX over Greddy? Thanks for your help.

u should seriously look at a vortech supercharger kit, 242 hp to the wheels on a bone stock 99 si proven on a dyno. with intake header exhaust the kit made 272 wheel hp on an otherwise stock si. u could turn up the boost later as your car is better built, but that requires changing the pulley and belt, not a hard thing to do but not near as easy as a turbo. however for giving up easy changing of boost pressure u get in exchange no lag and all the low range power u could want, not a common thing in a honda. itd be a real screamer even with only 240 hp, imagine if all the civics u saw had the same power at low rpm as they do when revved way up, if i had a civic id definatley go vortech. but if turbos your thing go for it, im just saying u should check it out 1st.

The Greddy turbo kit for the the SI uses a TD05H-18G turbo which is good for about a little over 400 Hp. The Fmax uses a T3/T4 turbo that is good for about 550 hp. Granted your engine has to be capable of putting out this much power safetly. You may also want to look at the Drag kit which also uses the T3/T4 turbo. There is a group buy going on Groupbuycenter.com for the Drag GenIII kits for $3199 with a bunch of free goodies (stage 2 clutch, Turbo timer, A/F gauge, Boost gauge, Test pipe, some other things too.) If you have the money thats the way Id go. If money isnt an issue Id go with the bigger turbo kit for the SI, its a good strong motor and if you ever decide to go all out on it you will have plenty of room to work with. Plus The prices arent all that different for the Greddy and the Fmax/Drag. I think the quality of the FMax kit is very good as well.

I have sold and worked with a couple of these kits now and I can say that they are of great quality and I would reccomend it to anyone if they want to get a turbo.......:)

I run the Greddy 15G kit. The only thing I can say that Racing Rice didn't mention is that the 1G and 18G spool up faster because they are smaller turbo's. So, if you like to road race, it's for you. If you want mass HP gains at the top of your RPM (requires MASS INTERNAL UPGRADES), then go with the bigger turbos. Superchargers aren't worth it anymore, either.
