What's the true story on the fuel tank pump that hums like a 12lb. bumble bee? My 94 Q has been doing this for about 2 weeks. Is it about to depart to the hereafter? Is there a mech. fuel pump at the engine? When it dies, I'm I dead in the water wherever I am? What's the 'best' way to handle this? (best=cost effective) 165K and still going.....

Replace it now before you have to replace the FPCU which is much more expensive.

Removing and cleaning tank of fine grit and replacing fuel filter will ensure you don't have to do it again soon.

Go to NICO for instructions.
