no start after hot soak

My girlfriend's '94 4.0L V-6 Explorer will intermittently not start after having been driven then shut off for a few minutes. There is no spark during this time, then after a 15 min. or so cool down it will restart. I've been out of the auto repair business since 1995, but if I had to guess I'd say it's a bad module or pickup (crank angle sensor?) This looks like it has a kind of "multi" coil, one coil for each plug and must have a module and pickup(s). Are there any Ford whizzes out there that can say: (Oh yeah, you need to replace the ......." Thanks!

If I where guessing I'd try a crank sensor.

Other threads indicate a no start after hot soak is a bad coil. Not sure if this applies to multi coils though. Check all connectors for clean and end of wires for damage.

There are three independent coils, one coil for every two plugs so it is not very likey this would keep it from starting unless the problem was in the common 12V power. Ignition module is behind pass headlight. I'd go with the crank sensor as these have some history of failing. Heard the 94 is unique with another sensor that is quite expensive.
