What do you think Hakkinen will end up doing next season? I bet he comes back as a tester for sure (he'll get bored and besides all the tech he knows would be a super asset to the team)! Then the year after next maybe he'll come back if not the middle of next season if Raikonnen doesn't perform well! Just a guess but for the most part I think it will be so (except for maybe the last part) :p!

well..i think it would be amazing if hakkinen decided to come back as....VILLENEUVE's partner on BAR

that would be wicked if Honda had those 2 drivers

if hakkinen comes back, it will only be for McLaren...that would be great though:D I've also heard he may got to the DTM, driving for mercedes

If He come back, will be in Mclaren for sure, but I'm not sure he will be replacing Kimi, DC will have to drive like a pro if he want to be in Mclaren in 2003.

Can you imagine, an all Finn drivers lineup at Mclaren?
And the interviews after the race: ehhh, ahhh, je je, ehhhhhh no.

I don't think Drivers is what BAR need, a good Chassis is what they are missing. Those Reynards for sure are baaaaad.

yeah, BAR doesn't necessarily need drivers (they have a world champion) they need a decent chassis! I think if they had this past season's Minardi Chassis (I think that's the one that was pretty good) they probably woulda done a lot better. But they spent too much time trying to fix stuff that shoulda been fixed in testing. Well maybe next year'll be a different story!

As for Hakkinen I bet he definatley comes back as a tester for sure. Maybe even an interim driver if DC or Kimi can't drive. I think next year is DC's year to win it though! He has the drive to do it too. I think he could have done it this year if his car had been up to it. Unfortunatley it wasn't and I think he got a little discouraged (when Ron Dennis accused him of stalling on a start when it was mechanical). But hey that's racing!

I'm not sure about that. Schumacher and Ferrari are certainly going to be the favourites again; Montoya has excellent potential, combined with the excellent team of Williams BMW, he has a good oppurtunity as well. As some people have said before, and I agree. If BAR can find a decent chassis, and keep mechanical problems at a low, I think Villeneuve has a good chance of winning it all. However, unless DC really steps it up, takes risks throught the chicanes, turns, he'll end up like last year again.

true true, I didn't get a chance to see about the last half of the season this year. But in the first half it looked like DC wanted it bad, but his car just wasn't upto it. Form the news I gathered on the net for the last half it seemed like he kinda gave up (for lack of a better phrase) when Schumacher started kickin' butt and his enginge couldn't perform. The bit about Villneuve....

even though I am Canadian I think Villneuve only has at max 2 or 3 seasons more (probably 3) to win the championship. i'd like to say he could do it any time but he is getting older and when younger drivers like Raikkonen and Button are coming into F1 and setting pretty good times you have to wonder how much time Villneuve has left?

lots...how old he is right now?

i like his character...he could have stayed on williams and been on bmw williams, but chose to go to a new team in BAR HOnda, and help them develop their car

If Villeneuve has a decent car, he'll challenge.

I also think Hakkinen was a way better driver than Coulthard ever was.

I think Villneuve is around 25 or 26. So I would give him until 29 if he stays with BAR or another team even sooner I think he could do it. As long as he has a godd car I bet he could do it! Hey what do you guys think about Craig Pollock leaving BAR? Good bye Villeneuve?

no way!
without Villeneuve, who would BAR have? Panis?

they need Villeneuve...BAR wouldn't dream of ditching him
It's too bad Pollock's gone

How'd Pollock even get to know VIllleneuve?

P.S., new BAR Honda http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines01/12/s7892.html
