CAI for '91 eclipse

i have a 1991 eclipse gs and i want to put in cold air intake, but the adapter that i would need to keep in there to tell how hot the air is seems to be the top of a garbage can and i dont know how that would work

do i have the wrong one and if i do can someone please tell me where to find a new one and also where to find the CAI
