I've owned an S800 convertible - I wish I'd never sold it :(

One site in my favourites - as I recollect it might have links. Cheers

Sigh - my idea of owned was having one for 2 weeks until it got T-boned by a Corolla when the driver fell asleep at the wheel :(

I couldn't find another one good enough to replace it. Very tight chassis (albeit mine was very rough), gem of an engine - but not too much power. It really needed about another 30bhp to make it a performer. I found it revved to high on the freeway. But given all that, damn it was a fine car.

... and then I looked at the "1973" and realised you are talking about the n600 or z600 aren't you? :p

I used to have some sites somewhere as a friend was doing up a zot (z600 with the TV screen style rear). I'll do some digging through my favourites for you.

mines looks like those but crappier and one flat tire (where the hell do u find a 10 inch tire?) but mine will be nice when the restoration is done! gonna do something bout that 27 second 0-60 too, thinkin bout swapping in a newer civic motor. mines the hatchback but not the wierd looking back window so i guess its an n600, wish i had the wierd one though!

mines just like this one http://www.dmrgutters.com/600/im/600.jpg but it doesnt have a bigass boat behind it! same color and everything. the 4x4 style big chrome bumper is definately staying on the car... we origionally bought it to transplant an 86 mazda rotary motor we had into it and spray it but its just so damn cool cant bear to cut it up.

Those cars are awsome. I always wanted a 78 civic hatch, but I only found one around here. It body was in great condition and it still ran, for only $600. It sold before I could get ahold of the guy :(

That monster honda is bad. That is one jacked-up car I would drive. That way I could fit in with all the rednecks down here in the south

We had something similar to that over here actually - a suzuki mightyboy (think a tiny ute if you've never seen one) on a suzuki 4WD chassis. Looked sweet.

I love the first gen Civics - really getting the bug to drop a city turbo or EW2 12valve into one soon :)

The City Turbo engine would be much better than the EW. :D

You think? I'm talking a NA EW2 with CRX pistons, 40mm Webber carbs, extractors, Mugen cam etc putting out approx 150bhp :p It's what 2 of the guys in our club used to run on the track and is very drivable (albeit loud). I'd prolly turbo the combo instead though and add EFI.

The City turbo will net approx 128bhp if you add a good intercooler (and dump the crappy top mounted IC. The bonus is that you can boost it higher, but you risk detonation without decompressing a bit. Upping the turbo adds wonders, as does adding another injector and a programmable computor. Mind you, I've read of getting 170+ out of the motor and it's an easier drop in than the EW series which requires custom mounts :)

I meant stock vs. stock. With a turbo, the EW is probably a better choice because of its displacement. I still think the City turbo engine is cooler (but I've never seen one, so what do I know :) ).

I meant in person, I've seen pictures. But I did add it to the hundreds of Honda pictures on my hard drive. :D

I've seen a few - most of them with the intercooler replaced. Plenty of room in the SBC for the intercooler to run in front :)
