Hi I have a STD hatch and it doesnt have a tach.
Can I take the gauges out of of a LX or SI and just plug it in?
Does everything match and will the tach work?
THanks

I dont think you will be able to take the gauges out of your Lx cause your its a 90 and the hatch is an 88. The cluster for the STD will need to be out of an 88 or 89, if you want to use a 90 or 91 you will need to rewire.

I have a 90-91 Si cluster for sale. $60 plus shipping.

OK, you think it would be a better idea to get one of those aftermarket tachs and have it mounted on the dash.
How much do you think it would cost to get one?
Also are they easy to wire into ur car?
Thanks

I bought the Autometer 5" Augogauge tach for $100 and I love it. The install is easy here is a link to what I used. Here (http://www.westworld.com/~joe_r/tach/tachinst.html)

If you want a direct gauge cluster swap use 88-89 for 88 & 89 and 90-91 for a 90 & 91.

Why waste $$ on an aftermarket tach for a STD? Just find someone selling a 88-89 Si cluster for $20-30... They're not hard to find.

But how hard is it to wire in a Si cluster to a std harness?

Should be plug & play.... There shouldn't be any rewiring. I doubt the STD wiring harness is any different than the DX, but I've been wrong before :icon16:

It is plug and play like I previously said just us the required years to match 88 & 89, 90 & 91. And where I come from there aren't many 4th gen clusters to be had.
