how often do you get raced?

It seems that anytime i'm out after 8pm, theres street racers (or ricers) swarming the damn streets. I went to go buy some milk a while ago, and at every single light there was a race waiting. This night there were a total of 4 people trying to race me. (11 is the record so far, and in the city, i didn't even get on the freeway) I didn't race any of them. Worthless. Well here goes my story. I just left my house, the second i get onto main st. Theres a green civic behind me flashing her high beams. I try not to notice it and drive normally. She moves over to the left, matches me, blows me a kiss, then takes off and switching lanes in front of me flashing her hazards. :wtf: - Second light (yes...every light..theres someone waiting :mad: ) a maroon eclipse RS...i think to myself..well i might as well have fun with this one :rolleyes: So the light turns green and we're at a 30mph roll..i look at him and downshift to 2nd, BUT not as to speed up, but to slow down :evillol: . He was so confused , also downshifted and took off for 2 seconds. I later catch up to him..and he speed matches me. I slowly begin to let off the gas. So we're slowing down...to 10mph :evillol: . it took him about 10 seconds to realize that we were going so slow. He looked over and gave me this down syndrome look, and took off. 3rd light, another one waiting :rolleyes: - green mustang (v6). Light turns green, i drive normaly, shifting at 2.8k even. the stang does a fly by and sticks his tongue out at me and yells "your car's fuckin slow!". I push in the clutch and rev my engine (I'm currently running pantyhose intake mod) he hear's the sucking in of air, and MISTAKES IT FOR A TURBO :rofl:. You should've seen his face, you could see himself whisper to himself the word turbo. He's obviously never heard a real turbo in his life. He turns off at the next light...fgukcign douche. 4th light - this one's great guys, a kia sephia w/racing stripes, fart can, and blue turn signals. He rolls down his window and says, "so you got vtec huh?" I say, "yeah, do you?", he says "yeah". :biggrin2: (I think to myself...wtf..lol) - he revs and revs. and i sit there looking down as if i'm reading something. This guy probably thought i was scared or something. I look up as the light turns green and start late, by this time he's already crossed the length of the intersection. I drive semi-quickly shifting at 4500k. AND TO MY AMAZEMENT, i look to my left and i'm dead even with him, as he's furiously shifting at redline (fart can gave it away). We stop at the light, i look over and teh guy is CRYING :cwm27: - i tried not to laugh, but i look to my right so he wouldn't see and i freakin burst out laughing. Geez what a night...finally got to safeway and bought me some milk, and took a backroad on the way home to ensure NO MORE FGUKCIGN RACING.

damn, i miss the times when there were actually cars out there worth racing. but nowadays, the city's swarming with pieces of shit.

SOunds like a night of fun,
We we live we can rarely catch a race espscially at a light.
We go searching for races all over town and never get any. :grinno:
So I guess your pretty lucky to at least have some people out there to race you.

i drive around in 2 cars my hatch and a 97 mecury mountaineer and i get more races in the suv than my car has ever seen, no one will race me when im in my car, no one, they could have a damn crx with b18 and some more shyt and they wouldent even toy with me or play back when i tried to get a race out of them, ricers wont even bite

but when i see them when im driving the suv they are all tryin to race 5.0's and what not, i dont get it! but the suv has only 2 losses so far in its 2 year racing history

i hardly ever get races.

let alone one's that are worth it.

sorta goes in streaks tho. some nights i'll get a couple, then won't for a few weeks.

tonight killed a 5.7 r/t, but...wasn't much of a race so it was kinda pointless.

get rev'd on by rice-boys all the time, hardly ever by an actual car that is worth it.

i never get raced. coz its an LX sedan. :grinyes: so many ricers exist now a days...it kinda gets annoying with all the fart cans on the cars.

I used to drive a '99 Honda CRV (*Not CRX*), that's right, the little mini-SUV thing. People would pull up to me all the time and rev their engines, and I'd be like, what? it's a CRV! I finally got a '94 Accord EX a few months ago but the exhaust is in really poor condition, rusted, holes, you name it. So I ask a friend if the shop he works at could hook me up with a new exhaust. He says yah so I go in there to order it and they only offer me one choice and claim it's a great price. It ends up being a fart can and costs me $300 for an axle-back exhaust. I'm pissed off about it because I could have gotten a nicer exhaust for the same price. I just ordered a replacement mid-section and will likely buy a new stock muffler. Eitherway, I've done some slight modifications, an AEM intake, new grill, new emblems. The car is slow as hell, I know this, so I don't even try to pretend like I'm fast. I hardly have anyone pull up next to me and rev their engine now. The only two people were a guy on the freeway in an Impreza and some punk in his '80 something Toyota hatchback. I got my ass kicked by the Impreza, of course. The other one was just last night, I had gone to Target to pick up some cat food for the cat that lives behind my work and I'm stopped at a stop light and this kid pulls up next to me with a car full of his friends. So he starts revving the hell out of his engine and skidding and honking his horn to get my attention. So than the light turns green, he burns out, and than turns into the 7-11 on the other side of the intersection. Now what's really funny is that he was honking and making all that noise, and we EACH HAD A CAR IN FRONT OF US. I had a pickup truck in front of me and he had a minivan in front of him. I was like "Where the hell do you think we would go???"

That's an older picture of the rear end :rolleyes: No sticker on it any more. Also, the engine is out of the car at the moment. Had a busy weekend tearing it down. The new head is going on today and the clutch tomorrow.

ok I odn't know about Kias that much but I shit you not...friend of mine has a 96 Kia Sephia and that thing will seriously beat alot. no engine mods either. me and him bout 350 lbs together and we have beat 2camaros and 1 firebird and a shitload of mustangs. I've never seen a KIA like this one. I know it sounds weird but this KIA has some weird quality. I guess since they're made so cheap it doesnt take much to push it because they are so light. Only car that has ever beat it would be the camaro. anything else we jump on pretty goood. Then again the competition where I live isn't that much of competition. Either stock cars or exhaust tips lol

i'm not much for street racing just simply because its not worth getting caught. but i have raced a couple times. now remember i'm in wisconsin. anyhoo first time was with my civic dx, i running down a 4 lane and this crappy little riced out late 80's accord dx comes flying by me and revs me and changes lanes right in front of me. i've got 3 other ppl in the car and my best friend in the front seat and he is like "wtf??" and the guy in the accord starts flashing his blinkers funny and stuff to get my attention. so he signals to turn off onto a country road and i follow. the guy is stopped in the left lane of the road after i get around the corner, i pull up next to him and he's like "wanna go??" i'm thinking to myself "aw hell i'll give this little highschooler his adrenaline rush for the night." so I tell him yes and i kick my friends out of my civic. So we sit there and he's reving and reving and my best friends girlfriend flags us and we take off. I jump him right off the line and we go about a 1/3 mile. this was my first race ever, I beat him by about 5-6 car lenghts. so we turn around and line back up and go on 3 nods. he starts on about the 2nd nod and gets out in front of me so i just put it on the floor and i get up next to him in 2nd gear, grin at him, shift it to 3rd and pull away. so i get back and pick up my friends and he pulls up next to me and goes "aww man guess you got more speed" and burns and takes off. Next time i'm sitting at a light in town with my integra, windows down, and this POS ford bronco II pulls up next to me, this light was on a little bit of a hill and i had rolled back a couple feet so i bip my gas and pull forward back up to the line. all a sudden this bronco revs and scares the crap out of me cuz theres like no exhaust system left on the thing. so i just glance over at the guy and he's like bouncing around in his seat and pointing and saying "that s***** little f**** rice burner crap bla bla bla". he reminded me of the 80's hick in the ford pickup in the movie back to the future when he raced mike j fox in his toyota. i looked the other way cuz i started laughing he looked so much like him. well the light turns green and i take off normal. however this dude just lights em up and take off out of the light and pulls right past me, about 3 car lenghs in front of me he's still just haulin and turns around in his seat and looks back at me and does what looked like the hillbilly laugh thing and flicks me off. So i'm still in second still so i kinda do this evil grin thing and flick him off and just peg it shoot past him. all while having my hand out the window flicking him off. it made my day though...stuped hick, it was fun pissing him off. but asides from that I have about 5 or 6 grand ams and neons trying to race me every time i drive though town at night. i never have had anyone with a "real" car try racing me.

I realize this is for Honda/Acura but were all into spirited driving, so i dont see any reason for not saying anything. I own a modified mk4 jetta vr6 and because of how beautiful and raspy as the tectonics tuning exhaust makes her, i always without question have some fart pipe addict on my ass. I always enjoy the variety of cars that comes with this sound. From old 80's beater relics like a toyota corolla with plenty of rust to a primer colored civic that has two skinnies for his drive wheels and 17's in the back! Now i have respect for honda's, i used to own a 98 Predlude SI, but sold it for the need of four doors.
Anyways i get raced on occasion 3 to 4 times a month, whether i am willing and able or not. ciao.

Never had the old girl to the track. Only ever run on the street. A safe estimate would prolly be mid 13's n/a and high 12's with nitrous. This spring I'm replacing my 2.73 granny gears with some 3.73's, putting in a vigilante 2800 stall converter, and putting in my transgo shift kit. I'm also tossing around the idea of some 15X11 M/T ET Streets to help hold the road better. After those mods are in, I'll be expecting high 12's or low 13's n/a, and low 12's with nitrous.

Of course, remember, these are only estimates. I'm sure my first time out, I'll blow the launches and prolly run like a 14.5 or some shit, but the car is pretty fast as it sits right now. I'm not sure what they are rated at, at the track, but I have beat a c5 (possibly cause of the driver), and an LS1 or two. I have also beat two peoples brand new STI's. One went 2 out of 3 with me, from stops and rolls, the other tried me on the interstate like 10 times... :)

Also, if I'm rolling along at about 45mph, and stomp it, it'll downshift and spin the tires, even on dry pavement, with 245/50/16 goodyear eagle F1 GS-D3's.

I've been shopping around for a place to do a dyno tune for me, but it's hard to find a shop with a dyno up here where I'm located... :(

I'll be sure to make a post this spring once we have it tuned up and finally get it to the track. Let's cross our fingers... :)
