h22a del Sol

yo what up, here's a question for the gurus, h22a in a del sol, i know it can be done, because i have seen it, i know that in a civic, it would need integra axles and accord halfshafts, but other than that, i believe the tranny and everything else will fit fine, i also plan to turbocharge it, so when i'm done i can just say :flipa: to everyone, my goal is a 11 second daily driven street and show car, , i plan to be leavin people :bloated: and i'll be all :D. anyone in the fort myers florida area: OUTLAW Motorsports and Audio, (941) 368-8111, hope my info for the swap is correct, if not, any pointers would be greatly appreciated

hope u dont plan on sayin :flipa: to me on any type of corner cuz that thing will understeer like crazy. especially if im in my scooby... well if straight line and only straight line is your thing though go for it itll prob be fast. however my scooby beat a 88 prelude with the new prelude motor in it, which i think would perform about like a del sol with one (though im just speculating here cuz ive never racer a del sol/prelude) and mines not even a wrx...

a b-series swap would give all the power that you could use if you turbocharged it.....the h22 turbocharged would weight over 500 pounds
just my opinon(as if it counts for shit) a lightweight motor for a great handling car like a b16 turbocharged....not to mention the headache and pain it would save.....

You will get MADD! understeer and it will weigh alot your also gonna have to reclocate alot of shit and get a CF hood not a good idea. I would personally swap a B series motor but its all up to you.

now theres a man with a plan, go for power or go for nothing, good job, if your turbocharging it dont get the vtec version , and be ready to wip out a bit of dough to correct the understeer porblem.

Screw understeer.
Have you ever seen a RWD car with the front swaybar removed trying to turn?
All in the name of fast 1/4miles times :D
My car handles like a boat. I don't care, I'm not about to try and turn at 90mph anyways...
I say go for it. Drop that badboy in there, turbo it. heck, spray it too!
drop as much weight from the car as you can and throw a set of slicks on it.
Mmmmm....

I have an H22A in a 1986 Accord Hatch, and have been driving it for two years now. I have also put them into 92-up civics and will also be doing a Del Sol soon. The weight difference is not much, a B-series engine weighs about 300lbs complete with tranny, and an H22A weighs 385lbs, thats less than having a passenger in the car. All in all it is a very worth while swap. My Accord with traction problems goes high 13's all day bone stock USDM motor. Up here in Civics, JDM H22A's have been able to hit low 13's stock with a slick.

I don't know about Del Sols, but in Civics, but I figure they're similar. If you decide to throw in a H22, you'll have to give up A/C and power steering, as well the handling will be worse. So you might have to take that into consideration.

my brother just dropped an h22a into his 95 civic and pretty much everythings cool. he got rid of the ac, ps and got a cf hood. along with his coilovers the ride is fine
i don't know about turbocharging that though, you'll reach 11's but thats gonna be hard as hell to drive daily

I think your car will run like shit (thats in a +ve context).
I just got a h23 DOHC engine for my integra.
Man i plan to bore it, inorder to get it up to a 2.5 :smoka: I'll get JE pistons and all, chage the camshaft, and cam gears.
But unlike you i'm not sure about the turbo yet.
Man you ride will be 'mad and off' :D
