..........this time a not so complex model. A Tamiya Jordan 191 in the test version with raintires. The tires are from Modeler's.

yeah, you could spray goodyear in almost any color. I like the color on this car, very plain. What engine does it have?

Finally an F1 car, thats one thing i dont see too much off in this forum. i have a kit like this at home and tinkered on the idea of doing the same livery at one stage. be good to see how this project pans out.

Very cool project! Are those Modeler's rain tyres still available? I love the look of them. Have you finished the body in carbon fibre decal or just black paint?

86_SR5 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=98589): The Jordan 191 (nee 911!) was powered by a customer Ford Cosworth V8. The car could have won the 1991 Belgian GP if it wasn't for Cosworth introducing a new spec engine with a higher oil consumption. They didn't tell Jordan of the increased usage and the engine ran out of oil and expired while de Cesaris was closing in on eventual winner Senna.

Oh, ok. Thanks, I thought it would've had a v10 or something F1 like that, but v8's are cool in any car.

Very cool! I've always liked the idea of tire stencils, but never seen them in progress. Thanks for that! The car is beautiful and the rain tires are a nice touch, it'll totally set the car apart. Except that you have two too many... just kidding.... But seriously, fantastic work!

Also was the very car that saw saw the debut of some unknown driver, Michael Schumacher in the same race. The 191 was a very significant car for Jordan unfortunatly they were unable to capitalise on its potential in the next few seasons.

Kurtl, I have never seen this livery before. It looks great and very unique. I wish I could get my hands on a few sets of those rain tyres.

nice detail, I'm liking those gold headers.

Coming along well Kurtl.
If I can make one suggestion though. The gold of the exhaust looks too bright to me. Here are a few shots of the Jordan engine and gearbox, so you can judge for yourself.

Cool Kurtl, that was quick!

Did you also notice the different routing of the pipes from each cylinder? Jordan must have modified it at some stage. That is the trouble with modeling F1 subject - they change spec so damn quick!

I may also have found a source for the Modeller's rain tyres :) Need to confirm it is for real, not just an out of date stock listing.

Or if you like decaling as well, and want to carbon fibre decal the entire thing! Looks great kurtl, although I thought you posted finished pics of this before?
