Fused horn

I have an air horn in my truck, but it's not fused or anything. Basically the compressor and the horns sit under the hood, with one wire going to the battery, and the other wire going thru the firewall to a switch, and then coming back off the switch to the battery. How do I determine what kind of fuse I need and how do I install it?

an inline fuse holder would be your best bet. Radioshack has some for 2-5 bucks. I prefer the glass tube fuses (AG type), but that's just me. I find them easier to replace. I don't know the amperage you should use though :dunno:

Do I fuse the neg wire or the pos... does it have to be on the wire coming from the switch?

you'll want the switch and fuse on the positive wire. The fuse should be within 18 inches of the battery and the switch can be where ever you want it. Good luck!

Okay I think right now my pos wire runs straight to the battery and the switch is on the neg wire... guess I'll have to adjust that

Anybody know about the amperage to use for the fuse?
