I met the owner of chassis #40 at a trackday on saturday, could i ask peloton or other mclaren gurus on the site if they have pics and more info on this car?

The owner was called Gary and evry nice, he gave some pretty good insights into the life of mclaren f1 ownership.

Coincidentally we actually met him at the same track over two years ago, and when i was at RUF he had flown in to pick up his 3600S...small world huh!

What were his insights? Did he have any major problems with any components?

Also, what is a 3600S?

Thanks!

He basically too the car up to its maximum speed of 221mph, and he said eh could feel the car hit the limiter! Also he wasnt too impressed by the suspension, because of this the car is in germany having modifications done to it.

A 3600S is a RUF car which starts life as a Boxster, but basically it has the carrera 2 3.6 litre engine...very nice car

Hey Adam-
Thanks for sharing!!

From the chassis list, #040 was originally a silver F1. I assume if it is blue now, that may have happened on a refit at the change of ownership. Do you have any idea if Gary was the original owner on this car?

Also, there is one blue F1 road car that has been photographed recently at the Nurburgring. It is a very unique looking car in that the color is sort of a flat medium blue, and the wheels are dark grey in color. Another very unique feature of this blue F1 is that it has the high mirror option, similar to the original F1 concept Clinic Model. High mirrors are quite rare - I believe I have only seen 3 or 4 cars that have them.

Do you know, or have any way of finding out if this description I have given matches the F1 who's owner you met? If you do, then there are a handful of photos of this car already in this forum we can point you to.

Wow, looks like we might have found out which one "N711 OGH" is. It amazes me how we find all this stuff out

I really cant say if gary was the original owner, but he did say that it was being modified at a good place near the ring, so i bet that it was his car.

Really top guy, could you point me in the direction of the pics? thanks Peloton :)

Hello,

You are AdamT of M5 message board ? If it is the case, I remember pics of an M5 next Nick Mason's F1 and it was amazing.

Maybe, it would be cool to link these pics here ?

Thank you

Good bye
