Anyone know the update?
first i heard mel wasn't down so they make up this son of max script and ledger was in - and then i heard that ledger wasn't and mel decided to go back so miller had to do a new one. then they were going to shoot it after mel got done with what women want but then war broke out and the production company backed out or at least posponed it.

as a life long max fan myself; i am dieing to see the next one. it was a great day when i heard they decided to make another sequal. not counting star wars a trillogy, i dare say mad max to be the best movie series that has grown over 2 episodes.

(disclaimer - die hard 2 was just too sub par compaired with the constant levels of greatness mad max produced - but i do give die hard the second spot credit on my list.)

Folks - the fourth installment has the working title of "Mad Max: Fury Road" and was originally scheduled for release on July 23 2004.

However, the US $104 million project which was to be filmed in locations such as Namibia and Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia. However, as the film shoots were never commenced, the sets warehoused and the production office has been closed - there's no prospect of anything on the radar at this stage.

Plot, characters, cast and setting are pure conjecture at the moment.

For anyone one who is having doubting thoughts on this project going forward let me assure you that the film will be made. This film is not dead. They just warehoused the set for right now. The Major fact is this Gibson is working on a "little" movie (maybe you've heard of it) called The Passion of Christ. This movie will not be released until Febuary (I believe) and the reason Miller hasn't started shooting and he had to close down the offices is because he won't go through with this film unless he has Gibson. And Mel Gibson is VERY busy putting his film together For those of you who have heard of it you might have heard that it's a "little" contraversial. The Passion of Christ is a very personal film and he needs to be a part of it every step of the way. So, in conclusion, Miller will wait, Gibsons going to need the money (he's pouring his own into PoC) and shooting probably won't start until next summer. Relax. :smokin:

I can't wait to see The Passion of Christ. Gibson is a brilliant man, and I'm sure the movie will show it.

:iagree:
Mel, if not THE favorite, is one of my favorite actors of all time. Everything he touches is gold. What I'd love to see though is another "epic" movie, in the same style as Braveheart and The Patriot.

New article I just ran across:

The Rev. Billy Graham gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up to Mel Gibson's biblical epic, "The Passion of Christ," after a private screening with the movie star.

The film, which describes the hours before Jesus Christ's crucifixion, has generated complaints from some Jewish leaders, who say it suggests Jews were responsible for Christ's death. Conservative Catholics who have seen the film have called it powerful.

"The film is faithful to the Bible's teaching that we are all responsible for Jesus' death, because we all have sinned," the 85-year-old evangelist said. "It is our sins that caused his death, not any particular group."

In a statement released Tuesday by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the Southern Baptist also said he "was moved to tears" by the film.

Gibson spent a reported $30 million to produce the movie. Set for release Feb. 25, the movie's dialogue is in Latin, Hebrew and Aramaic with English subtitles.

"I doubt if there has been a more graphic and moving presentation of Jesus' death and resurrection, which Christians believe are the most important events in human history," Graham said.

Graham attended a screening a month ago — one of several Gibson has hosted for religious leaders. After one in August, Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League complained "the film unambiguously portrays Jewish authorities and the Jewish mob as the ones responsible for the decision to crucify Jesus."

Paul Lauer, the film's marketing director in Santa Monica, Calif., called Graham's endorsement "very important." Lauer said the film is faithful to the Gospel text.

"Therefore," he said, "we don't believe the film is anti-Semitic."

Graham apologized last year for disparaging remarks he made about Jews 30 years ago in an Oval Office conversation with President Nixon. The comments were released on audio tapes made by Nixon.

*** Notice he spent $30 MILLION of his own personal money. Like I said, before, I think he'll take the job.

From what i've read on various websites, the front nose piece on the falcon; the custom mold has been destroyed. So if they do go through with this movie, i hope then can really replicate the orgional mold.

Thats a nice little read. Gibson is trying to do his best to produce the movie based on fact, not fiction.

i think i liked to pretend that such a variable supercharger that could be turned off and on could exist. also, in mm1 the mechanic mentioned No2 - am i wrong about that? it didn't play a role in mm2, perhaps it is proper to assume that any no2 was depleted from previouse adventures.

Something to consider...

The physicist Leo Szilard(*) once announced to his friend Hans Bethe that he was thinking of keeping a diary: 'I don't intend to publish it; I am merely going to record the facts for the information of God.' 'Don't you think God knows the facts?' Bethe asked. 'Yes', said Szilard. 'He knows the facts, but he does not know THIS VERSION of the facts.'

Leo Szilard was the nuclear physicist involved in the Manhattan Project who conceived the concept of how the atomic bomb might work. He was also a proponent of not using nuclear weapons and proliferation - and actively lobbied for the US not to demonstrate the weapon in an operational theatre...

Take a look at the following website:

http://www.madmaxmovies.com/cars/interceptor/myths.html

This is the excerpt pertaining to your question. It is located at the above webpage under Rumour #2, Paragraph 3:

"Additionally, when Barry says "sucks nitro" in the garage scene of Mad Max, he is certainly NOT talking about Nitrous Oxide. There was no such system ever hooked to this car, and we don't see any such thing in the film. The only thing he could possibly mean by this is that the car might be fuelled by nitromethane, a liquid fuel which would just go in the tank. This is also alluded to in the opening chase of Mad Max when talking about the car Nightrider stole, a "Pursuit Special on methane, very hot"."

Interesting, huh? I invite you to browse thorough the other rumors, and then go to the parent site:
