Ok i got a new distributor and fixed my exhaust leak since my last post.
Distributor is timed right-
the car at cold will run fine even hit VTEC, but when it gets warm, it loses power if you floor it and wont hit VTEC and has that 6k or 6.5k rev limiter. Also when i floor it when its having problems the engine tone sounds differant.
All i can think of is the fuel filter, but if that was the problem it would start when its cold to. Other than that spark plugs but why would they work when cold and when hot not work right? thanks

Hey whats up,
I had this with my 97 prelude the vtec would never turn on it would go to 5000 rpm and thats it i had to shift (im not sure about when it was cold) but the thing is i drove it like that for a month and the other day the car wouldnt go past 3500 rpm so i took it in to a shop today the problem was the pressure in each cylinder was 75psi when its supposed to be 150psi. So they took the head apart and found out that four of my valves were bent. so now i got to pay 1300 to fix it. But it might be different with ur car. try checking the pressure when its cold and then when its hot. it should 150psi.

1st, if you have a factory anti theft radio then make sure you have the code to reset it. Next, reset the computer. Now jump the service check connector, and then start up the car. Your check engine light should be on but not blinking. At this time while the engine is running, adjust the timing. Shut the engine off and remove the jumper. Start the engine again and let it idle for at least 1 minute. That should do it.
