hey guys, i was just wondering how you should choose your cold air intakes and which ones you chose and why. thanks

In a nutshell, opening the air intake can improve the airflow through the car (along with an open exhaust) and potentially increase the cars horsepower. If the air can be chilled, the air is denser therefore you’ve increased the amount of air being drawn into the engine.
I am not familiar with a cold air intake for the 3000. The location of the intake doesn’t lend itself to getting cooler outside air. However, a good K&N filter works quite well.
