high rev's

1984 944 5-speed N/A. When I come to a stop the car rev's up 3500 RPM. Then will idle back down in a few seconds. Any Idea's?

Sticky throttle body, maybe? Get under the hood and move it back and forth, see what it does...

Possibly a faulty cold start regulater, or sticky throttle:)
