Chevy trucker(s) ..

Been think'n 'bout trucks .. new one(s) are fine .. but not eliminating used one(s) either.

Question regarding "used" Chevy trucks! What model and year Chevy truck is the one, that y'all consider .. the best Chevy came out with (not counting the new one's this year). You know ... this one model/year ... you think Chevy did it right! Previous years were OK, and the subsequent years .. well too many changes brought out different headaches.

Lookin for opinions .. appreciate any feedback.

My personal opinion on the best chevy trucks would have to be the good ol 81-86 years (Not 87 they were EFI). I loved my old 85 cuz I could rod the piss out of that little 305 and hit 6500 RPM and do brakestands at every stop light. The temp would go down to -35C here in Alberta Canada and every morning she would fire up after the engine turned only twice. I say if you ever have a chance to buy a nice one of them old trucks jump on it. You can't kill em'!!

Chevy did make their better trucks in the 80's. Everything snachmasterflex says is true. I REALLY love the style and roominess of the Scottsdale. Anything you do to the this truck looks GREAT, lowering it is NOT good though! If you do that, get an El Camino :)!

I have 4. One 80 k20 4x4 that has been used as a tank and looks like it. Still runs pretty good. 350 in it.
One 83 k20 4x4 diesel. great truck.
one 87 1500 blown engine, 4.3v6.
One great 80 luv 4x4.Incredible little truck.

I had a 78 4x4 that would do what ever I wanted it toand ask for more. And it ad the 350 auto, better yet it had a transfer cas that had 4 low. I had that truck loaded with 7 383's and a 318 from cleaning out a friends garage and he said " this thing rides as good as my caddy " and it did.

The only downfall to the 80's Chevrolet trucks is the side mounted gas tanks. Very dangerous.

The BEST truck I ever had was a 1968 Chevy K-20 with a 292 L-6. That truck would push snow, climb walls and pile snow like no other truck I have ever owned.
