Kickdown cable length?

I have an 83' camero, 350, edelbrock performer intake, 650 holly carb, 700r4 tranny. My question is, how do i measure for the correct Kick down cable? I went and got a new one, but it is 4 - 5 inches to short. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Though unfortunate, the modifications made will require a redesign to your application. It might be necessary to modify the linkage, or shopping for the correct length. Ray
