Tach sporadically moving

My tach kinda tweeks back and forth when i am in any gear driving, usually between 3-4K RPM. Now i've heard that this is a sign of a dying ignitor, BUT i replaced mine a year ago new from Honda(as well as cap/rotor). Are there any other symtoms that may cause this BESIDES an ignitor going bad?

YES !!! check your battery and Alternator, If you batery is weak it will cause the tach to go crazy.

YOP alternator can cause that at least mine did...

P.S.: check the Volts on Battery when the car is on

That happened on mine too, it was the coil that went bad. It had a hole melted through the part that connects to the cap and it wasn't getting a good spark

I have a question reguarding the tach too... Mine is way off, it says im a like 2,000 rpm when actually im at 4,000. Its usually about half of what it should be (I have an aftermarket tach wich I know is right) Anyone know why it might be doing this?

Do you think if the battery is weak that it would somtime 'cause the car to studder in full throttle in higher rpm's? 'cause mine does the sporatic movements around 3-5 grand also. And sometimes it studders or hesistates for a split second.
