alright, check it out.I bought a 99 civic ex D16Y8 (to all that don't know that's a SOHC VTEC). It's to slow and time for a swap. Now, since it's a coupe I need a haul ass motor. I already have a turbocharger (don't ask) and want to add nitrous. What motor will feed my everlasting hunger for speed? Please give me your wisdomistic opinions fellow honda lovers. B16a2 jdm spec, B18C1, or a H22. but seriously I do need help selecting a motor. Thanks for any info that you give.

it all depends on your budget. if you've got a big budget and a turbo go with an LS/VTEC :smokin:

I would but would that be enough. Would turbo charge an H22 or a type-r motor. I thought of doing a Ls Vtec simply because it'd be different. I already have a price for one with LSD and the whole nine yards for $2000 without VTEC though. Think I should go with it?

A coupe is only about 100lbs heavier than a hatch..
What kind of turbo do you have, a D-series one? If so then it's useless on a dohc setup unless you customize it. I totally agree with the LS or LS/vtec swap for a turbo build. Either that or a juicy B18C1. Both can handle some tremendous boost and get you down the strip in 11's - 12's with nitrous, or a lot of money tuning the engine. Make sure with nitrous you get all the internals built up because boost already heats up the chambers pretty hot without it. It heats up so much because the turbo crams in more air, and the ecu responds with more fuel, and this makes a bigger boom. Add a wet kit to that and you're upping the air and fuel even more.

b16 should do you well
b18 if you're a fanatic
h22 if you're one crazy ass mofo
but really...go with the c1, or ls/vtec

b16 should do you well
b18 if you're a fanatic
h22 if you're one crazy ass mofo
b16 for easy install, lightweight engine and high revving
b18 for some torque, low compression makes great for boost
h22 hard to install, is a torque monster, and the engine can be bought cheap (like $2200 from hmo). There's no demand for them because they're just too hard to install and turning sucks with all that weight under the hood, but will kick ass in a straight line.
