Question about wheels.

I posted in the classified about needing the front wheels and tires from a Tamiya 1/24th scale Porsche 935 kit, and was wondering if there were any other kits that have these same wheels and tires.

The tires are slicks that have a really nice texture to them and have Dunlop markings on one side and Goodyear on the other. The wheels are a sort of BBS lace mesh style tha isn't molded open. The center of the hub is open, presumably to allow for some sort of rivet to hold the wheel in place like in the Tamiya Group C kits. The rears are way oversized (at least an inch and a half wide, and an inch in diameter) while the fronts fit very nicely into stock wheel wells of classic sports car kits.

If these wheels are in any other Tamiya kits let me know. I have one pair of fronts and I need a second pair of the fronts so I can get the suspension on my KPCG110 Skyline GT-R project together.

Thanks.

If you are in the USA you can try calling Tamiya USA and see if they have those parts available. I have ordered sets of tires and wheels from them before. When a kit gets damaged or has parts missing and the kit gets returned to Tamiya, it is parted out as replacement parts. The parts are all subject to availablility though. I dont have their phone number, but I'm sure its on their website.

Ok...
So you want normal width classic style BBS lace wheels.
Will Fujimi wheels work? Cause my LHS has some old stock BBS wheels with slicks. I think they had some 'mini-lite' style as well.
PM me if your interested.

BTW: Tamiya's US number used to be 1.800.TAMIYA-A I don't know if it still is though.

:p

TR, I've PM'ed you about those Fujimi wheels. Hope they'll be what I'm looking for, because that'd be easier than this hunt for another set of the Tamiya fronts.
