Ok. I have a 90 Integra RS, and im looking to get a VTEC head for it. Now heres the hard part, Which One? Im not which one to get. Ive heard that the B16A is the best, and Ive also heard that the B18C type R is, and Ive also heard that the B18 LS is a good head. So im a little confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The B18 LS head is a non vtec head. I would go with the B16A head b/c the B18C5 head is going to be alot more n\monety and it is basically the same head with better cams and ported alittle. You can get a B16A head and port and polish it and put in some cams and have a really nice setup. My .02

Yeah, your car is older too, so you'll have a lot more too chose from. You can get any head 90 or newer. And I agree with whtteg, B16A is the way to go.

What about a D16 Head

Thats weak, and wont fit a b series engine.

how much miles does your block have cause being a 90 ls your block is probley pretty weak and wouldn't produce as much power even with the vtec head. i would save for a swap.

I would just drop a B16 in it, port and polish the head, swap a B18A crank into it, and balance the crank. make sure you get a second gen so it will have a LSD,hydro tranny, and better gears.

If you are going to go that route then get the B16 and put in a B18C crank and then have a better R/S ratio. You will basically have a GSR motor with a B16 head which flows better. Or you could get a B20 Block and put on a B16 head and build or rebiuld the bottom end. I would nott personaly put a B16 in there and then use a B18A1 crank youi will have the same R/S ratio as a B18A1, so the only difference between the LS/VTEC setup and the B16 with the B18A1 crank would be that the B16 setup would have oil squirters. But oil squirters can be installed in a non vtec block. I would do a B20/VTEC setup IMO. It will give you alot of extra torque over the B16. Just my .02
